Hi! We will be going through a few hours downtime at 3:00AM PST on Wednesday, the 30th of September for a server change. According to the estimates we were given by the host, it should take about 5 hours.
For anyone interested, here's a brief explanation about the server change:
A few weeks ago we decided to use a separate host for image files - that means that one host (the new server) is now hosting image files for us, while the other host (the old server) is holding the text & meta information, as well as being responsible for serving the site to you!
As of next week, all the image files should be moved off the current server and to the new image server, and since the old server's going to be a lot emptier after the move we will be downsizing it to a more reasonable package. We're crossing our fingers and hoping that the downsized server will still handle the site load smoothly but if we run into any tangible lag we will absolutely be adjusting the server until we can find something that works for us! We apologise in advance for any issues or further downtime as we make adjustments.
