I honestly have no idea what made me name him Zog. It could’ve been from some meme page I followed years ago, but other than that, I have no idea. Although it isn’t his real birth-name, it’s still what he goes by most of the time and I don’t know why. Guess I’m gonna have to pull some elaborate origin story out of my ass for it.

Nautilus's name came from a song called... well, Nautilus. Dunno, I though it was soundind sea-like-
I choose the name of Aeris because it was soundind like Aero-stuff, aaand maybe because I've seen a video talking about Aeris of Final Fantasy. Who know.

For Basil, I was having some trouble looking for a name for him. I couldn’t find anything that fit. I was scrolling through my FYP on toyhouse and came across this old guy named Basil in the video and I thought it was a cute name so I took it for him
For Caspian I got his name from Brawlhalla due to the legend with the same name. It has a nice ring to it

He was named after Wally De Backer.. or Gotye (his stage name).. he’s a member of a band I like and I really needed a name for him, so I decided.. Worm.. Wouter. Wouter sounds good
The rest of my OCs I just smashed letters together, they just somehow ended up sounding like normal names, or ended up being actual names of like countries or something
Amu Kagami: being a fork of D, I picked a similar-sounding name for her. Kagami means mirror in Japanese and ties to how her family is politically prominent in the city of Mirior
Luna Milch: both her name and surname were picked at random but are supposed to sound like a cat's name as she used to be a catgirl
Prix Illuva: Prix means star in my conlang I worked on, while Illuva means rain. Illuva is also a reference to Thom Yorke - Iluvya (spotify link bc I couldn't find it on youtube for some reason?)
Musica Pearson: Musica comes from this Musica. Pearson was altered from his og surname, Appear. He was surnamed that bc his mother was a ghost who'd randomly appear, I think? You'd have to ask what 11yo me was thinking on this one
Rene Crowe: their full name, Rene T. Crowe, is a pun on Rain Tree Crow, a band fronted by this bastard who I based Rene's appearance on
Alexandr Wadia: named by me and surnamed by my Indian friend based on Parsi culture. He has a Parsi name, but mention it and he will smack you with a leather-bound book
Sunny Wadia: I was thinking of Sunday Riley (the skincare brand) when I came up with him. Later I also gave him a Parsi name - Mehrdad - which means "given by the sun" to match his existing nickname
