I have some vampire characters part of a RP that are all based during WWII! I'll just show you this guy though, whose name is Cato. He was originally from the Renaissance era, though centuries later he's served in WWI and is now serving in WWII as a pilot for the British airforce.

Kielo was born during WWI and was also alive to witness WWII. My knowledge on WWs isn't actually super good anymore since it's been so long since my last history lessons about the topic, but I imagine Lapland war probably disturbed Kielo the most.
Kielo was born in the Bothnian Bay and spent most of her time going up and down the Torne river o/

I got 2 German vamps that lived since before WW1 so they have witness/Been part of that and also WW2 then I got a British vampire that was born 1920 so he took part of WW2 but as a human, turned around 2 years later.
For each one I do some research on the years they were human as well as the time after to see what they can have been through/what made them who they are today.
Always loved history class but been long since I read it in school.
Nikolai lived in the Soviet Union in the years leading up to WWII, and he even fought in the war (although against his will). A lot of his backstory revolves around that time.

Two of them which really catches my interest is two vampire brothers ^^ They lived during WW2 and while the oldest brother were in the resistance, the youngest was actually a soldier / nazi working in one of the camps. However they didn`t know each others positions which made quiet the suprise when the war was over. But the youngest wasn`t all bad, at the end he started giving some of the jews rests of food he had when no one kept an eye on him and slowly tried to communicate with them. However he got caught by some of the other soldiers and alot of things happened, I`m a bit suprised myself how he survived.
Amatsuba ....I love that ! I myself have a german vampire that were involved in the Nazis, not that he were against jews, but he had a hunger for power (and blood lol) and also carried some anger with him from WW1 (which he only observed). To him all humans were the same.
