He was meant to just be a supporting villain for a story I'm working on, yet... he's more developed now than any of the main cast?? He gets more compliments than any of my other characters when I commission art of him, and the two people who I know read his stories seem to really like him -- one of whom has actually started a ship involving him, and the other of which made fan art?
Though Ilya is my baby and has become one of my own favorite characters recently, he was originally made to be killed off, or to be a generic bad guy without a detailed past/clear motives. But his popularity among my few friends has definitely played a key factor in why I keep writing insanely long "short stories" regarding him instead of working on the main story he's a part of. Even though he hasn't got an insane amount of likes or even a single comment, it's sort of cool that a few people like a character I made, because that like... never happens. xD
