What's your preferred age range for OCs?

Pretty much what it says on the tin, as always! I was wondering about this since I see that many users seem to have a preferred age range, or sometimes an exclusive age range for their characters! What's yours? (I'm of course talking about physical/mental age here; keep that in mind if you mostly have immortal OCs)

Also, please stay nice in your replies! Having preferences is 100% okay, but don't insult people of a given age range (ie. "elderly people are ugly", "minors are boring"), whether you're referring to real life people or just characters. I want this thread to stay enjoyable to read for everyone, no matter their age or the type of characters they write.

I think my character age range is somewhere from 15 - 35? I don't have many child characters (youngest I can think of is Anita who is 13) and although I do have quite a few over 35, I think I have more who are in that specific range. I also don't have a huge number of teenage characters, which I think is pretty unusual. There's Colin (15), Crowley (18), and Sheldon (15) to name a few, but they're the minority. I definitely have more characters in their 20's than anything else.

Most happen to fall between 20-40 though a got a few that are older and younger. I refuse/ can't seem to make teens/ kids ; my youngest is 17 and I don't want to go younger than that lmao

I've always made adult ocs lol my first oc I made when 12 was like over twice my age lmao

Going off by physical age for all the immortals™ my age range would be 10 (Emecene) - 40 (Hades- not uploaded though lmaooo) The main reason why I don’t have that many characters older than like 26 is because I don’t know how to draw older adults in my art style; technically my age range should just be 10-late 20’s/early 30’s but blame two, hell maybe 3 unuploaded characters for tipping the scales lmao

Most of my OCs are teenagers (they’re easier to write as of right now because I myself am a teen and I’m not so confident about writing adult OCs since I haven’t experienced that part of life yet), but I have some early 20s adult characters and sometimes I even go into the late 30s (especially for parents)

Having most of my OCs as teens does make me insecure when playing on certain forum games because I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable or anything (especially when it comes to ones like Hug the Above OC, the Above OC is Dying, etc), but at least I can write them better XD

Almost all my OCs are 18+. I have a strong preference for those that are around college age. Gives them more freedom than highschool but also structure that's easy to write around.

I've always had ocs that are a lot older than me and I have no idea why :'D Even when I was like 10 all my horrible characters were at minimum 5 years older than me udtgsb

I don't have many characters below the age of 17 now and the ones I do aren't very developed, most of my characters are within the range of 21-30.

colorful

I prefer OCs to be older than I am because I always wished for an older brother when I was younger (and I probably still lowkey wish)

My OC ages range from 14 to 50--- My currently physically old OC uploaded here is Abraham, who's like 52 hhah-- but I really admire adventure/fantasy/magical anime with really young protagonists, such as Madoka Magica and Made in Abyss, so I also have Howard and Concord! I don't particularly have a range but if I do, I'm comfortable writing characters ages 19-40

Mochagatari

A good 70% of my characters are teenagers, from 14-21 range. I guess it may be because I myself am a late teenager, but also because teenagers struggle a lot and it's fun to incorporate the typical teen themes of growing up and trying to find your place in with all the cartoon magic BS. XD Plus, my art style is bad at drawing anyone over 35 at best.

I have an assortment of little kid (5-13) and adult (21-40) characters, though! I just can't do old people that well. :')

I used to make lots of 15-20 years old characters when I was a teenager, and I'm still keeping them as I grew attached to them, but now that I'm getting a bit older, I tend to go for older characters as well. I now prefer them to be around 25-40 years old.

When it comes to other's characters, though, such as in films or animations, I tend to like elderly characters.... I don't have any myself, though.

Architeuthid

early twenties is usually the youngest they get, and early fifties the oldest, but I prefer somewhere in the middle

Roheryn

My average is like 18-30, or 200+ years. I've got plans for some 40-50 year characters, but just haven't made them yet.

I just... find adult characters much easier to write/develop than characters my own age or younger? I have a total of two characters around my age. One is 16, one is my age at 17. Other than them, they're pretty much all older than me or have no set age in the case of my ferals.

helmsless

as i've gotten older, so has my age range preference... currently i prefer characters in their mid-20s+!! i do have younger characters, BUT i prefer writing adults
