Posted 2 months, 12 days ago (Edited 2 months, 12 days ago) by Beefy

If this thread already exists let me know! I would love to see it!

Otherwise, as the title says, post your comfort characters!
Whether they're your comfort character because you use them to vent, they have perfect aesthetics, or just make you happy!
What ever the reason I want to see them!

Optional questions:
-What makes them you're comfort character?
-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?
-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)
-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?
-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)
-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

(Please black out sensitive content, if you use your comfort character to vent/they deal with heavy topics warn us!)

Cutie Gold stuntchica

this baby!!

-What makes them your comfort character?
she's just so sweet & she tries so hard!! even though she goes through some real hard shit she keeps trying to see the best in others & wants to be the best version of herself that she can be

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?
nope fdshhdsf i just wanted to make a typical 'ideal' magical girl oc, then i ended up loving her so much. though in hindsight i should've seen this coming considering that i love that trope

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)
she's not a sona or anything. i project a little onto her but not too much

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?
i think she's more developed than a lot of my ocs?

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)
welll i have her first story arc written (just gotta finish editing it orz), and i comm art of her too sometimes

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?
i have others too!! it depends, i just consider any character that makes me feel Warm And Good as a cc!

Desiree Evelyn McCormick Amber-Lynne

What makes them you're comfort character? Desiree tends to be the default I doodle when I'm not in the best of moods. She's too sweet and cute that doodling her helps pick me up.

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character? Nooope. I just wanted a more innocent character... And she developed into who, or what, she is now.

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?) nope. Just one of my many characters, but totally one of my faves.

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed? Eh, about average. I've got a profile for most... Just not completed fr most yet either... My character list here is pretty sparse, lol

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?) drawing and getting other people to draw. Rping and sometimes writing.

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them? Depends on my mood. Basically I have a few that I go to when I need something specific. Desiree for a general pick me b up and Anna when I want to put my fist through someone's skull. Etc.

Agape Vance Valentine VulpisLux

-What makes them you're comfort character? Their one if the first ocs i ever felt a true connection with

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character? No they where originally a side character that was gonna be killed off early on

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?) Their a regular oc but I love him alot

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed? Hes extreamly developed in comparison and has a long thought out story to him. Im happy to rp with people who wanna get to know em

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?) I like drawing him. Usually either being happy or in gory situations depending on my mood

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

Most of em I just like for their athsetics.

I would class alot of my ocs as comfort characters since they all bring me alot of happiness simply by existing

mr-meowgi

i have two current comfort sonas!
Duncan and Milkbone (my newest one!)

Explainations in the spoiler v

-What makes them you're comfort character?
Duncan represents my feelings towards one of my favourite people; he's the warm, comforting feeling I get from just seeing that person. His design is fun to draw because it's a mess of brush strokes and has a wonderful color scheme (props to pinewoIf on deviantart for that!).

Milkbone holds symbolism to me. He's a cat that looks like a dog, people might mistake him for one. I am a trans-male, I still look slightly (traditionally) feminine because I'm not on any hrt atm and people still refer to me as a girl if they don't know me. He's fun to draw because he's very simple and I don't need to look at a ref or anything, which means I could draw him anywhere, anytime!

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?
I didn't create either! PinewoIf on da did. Duncan was a custom made for me and Milkbone an adopt I bought, however I did have the idea to make Duncan into a comfort character when I was ordering him. I decided to make Milkbone a comfort sona after developing his story more and such.

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)
Both are sonas! And Milkbone is an oc as well, I made a cute little story and world for him and am currently working on developing that! Most of the work has been in my head via daydreaming though..lmao

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?
Duncan isn't as developed as my other sonas but Milkbone is probably one of the most developed currently!

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)
Drawing mostly for now! I hope to commission art of them both (Duncan has a complex-ish design tho so he doesn't get much art from others sadly ripp) in the future.
And Like I said earlier, I have a story for Milkbone that I like to daydream about~

-If  you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being  considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?
Common themes would be they're both soft, warm characters. Very similar personalities (loyal, friendly, etc.) and design wise, spotttss. I love spots lol

Ryuu Zalimeow

This lil guy. I dont usually get furry characters but something about ryuus design attracted me, so I adopted him. He's pretty simple to draw and he has cute sprouts and a big sweater, which I adore! Maybe he reminds me of being a kid because animal cartoon characters and cozy sweaters? Doodling him makes me happy and relaxed though!

Sunday zzpop

-What makes them you're comfort character? I don't usually like my ocs to have repetitive art and have the urge to draw different things for them everytime which can be stressful, with this boy I can just do the same thing for him all the time without feeling bad about it, he just makes me calm and stress relieved

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character? No, he's my first adopted oc tho, I thought a lot before buying him

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?) No, just another oc but he's important in a way

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed? Not as developed as my mains but I don't have the need to because I want to keep him as simple and fresh as when I first draw him

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?) For drawing when I feel stuffed, bought art for him before but not anymore since I don't think anyone can draw him better than I do myself

-If  you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being  considered as such? Are there any common themes between them? I don't have any other comfort character but I do have a soft spot for sweet and pure characters with pastel palettes

Aidan Fasura celestials

-What makes them your comfort character?

he was originally based off of a character from a video game who brought me great comfort. i'd spend hours a day daydreaming about the character being my friend until i drifted so far from the canon that i realised i had kinda ended up creating my own character. and so i kinda just made him my own character.

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?

i think i did, yes. when i made him officially i knew he was going to be very important to me.

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)

i talk with my main ocs in my head a lot as i daydream. and to me he is like my guardian angel, the one who provides me solace and is always there for me if i ever need to talk to him.

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?

he is about the same level as developed.

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)

mainly art atm but i am working on lit for him too. i would love to rp him too but his world is kinda complicated and his canon means so much to me.

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

he is my only oc comfort character, but i have others from fandoms. the common theme between them is usually that they are a princely type of person who knows more than their years and is a strong leader type while still being introverted for the most part.

Timothy kafkaesque

-What makes them your comfort character?

He's just?? Sort of relatable to me?? Obviously I don't project myself THAT much onto him, but I can definitely relate to his issues regarding friendships and self-confidence issues.

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?

To be fair, he was originally meant to be a nicer guy, so if I kept him that way he would've been a nice comfort character. But naw, he ended up being a stinker. He wasn't ever meant to be a comfort character though; I just found myself kind of relating to him as I developed my lore.

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)

He's a major part of my OC lore and sort of an antagonist in a way?? I don't wanna spoil too much of his lore, but in a way he's an excuse for me to throw a bunch of edgy stuff at him... Angst is fun.

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?

Unfortunately, he's more developed to the point of hyperfixation. Yikes.

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)

I mainly use him for drawing personal stuff, but I've received an art piece of him before (as fanart though, not commissioned/requested). I sometimes use him for writing, but they're usually just for lore snippets and not "actual" stories.

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

Most of my comfort characters are angsty or problematic introverts who are often intellectuals. idk why but... That really speaks to me as a person?? It's on a more toned-down scale than anything else, but the comfort factor is still there for me. Some comfort kiddos who fall under this category are Fyodor, Timothy (as shown here), Victor, Lizaveta, and Dimitri.

dark fairy moth hybrid st00pidcupid

What makes them your comfort character?

Dark fairy moth hybrid was created while I was in a dark state of mind and emotion and they've come to embody shadow aspects of myself that, rather than try to change, I've been coming to accept. In that way, they're liberating to me.

Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?

It wasn't a conscious decision. I NEVER think!

In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?

They've only been around about a year. I admit there's something satisfying about how incomplete they are, though, like how they don't even really have a real name. There's something freeing about it. Until I start feeling otherwise, they might just stay incomplete.

What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)

Drawing. Very cathartic.

If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

I can only think of one other character at the moment. His name is Ren and is more about Becoming, and Struggling Against The Self and His Responsibilities To His Environment. Dark fairy moth hybrid is about Simply Being, and maybe even a disinterest/disregard for being aware at all. They both help me feel comfortable about very different uncomfortable stuff.

Katla SlyAsAFox

Katla is somewhat of a comfort character i guess.

Whenever i get hurt or mad, i just envision her. I gave my anger a form to better deal with it.

The other one would be Muusu. Whenever someone has a bad day, i just throw pictures of Muusu at them and it usually works wonders haha~

Scourge ScarletGamerArtist

-What makes them you're comfort character?

Scourge is my main OC that I use to vent with. It's because he has so much emotion on his own that I can use him to express my crazy emotions when needed. Also, I love to torment the poor guy in my stories because it makes me happy. He is my official punching bag that I take my anger out on. XD

-Did you intentionally create them to be a comfort character?

Not at all! He was originally designed to be a main antagonist for my series, and a hated character in general. But after drawing him a few times while I was upset or stressed over something, it really helped.

-Other then providing comfort are they important to you in any other way (e.g. are they a sona or just another oc?)

He is definitely a main sona of mine, next to Scarlet. I based him off of me quite a bit though. (No I'm not a murderer. But I can be an edgy hoe with anger issues that likes to curl up in a dark corner when I'm mad, just like him.)

-In comparison to your other ocs are they more or less developed?

He's my most developed OC. Desmond is my second-most developed OC.

-What do you use them for (drawing, writing, buying cool art, etc?)

I use him for all of that stuff. Drawing, writing, art trades, etc...

-If you have multiple comfort characters, what constitutes them being considered as such? Are there any common themes between them?

Desmond is technically a second comfort character, and so is Scarlet. They both relate to me more than most of my OCs, and they all had tragic pasts.

tentaclecuddles

i have a whole tag for them oml

most of my comfort characters unintentionally symbolize an issue i have going on, so they're most often used for vent art/RP's. they're usually way more developed than my other characters, too. but they aren't really ever specifically made to be comfort characters.

i see them kind of as security blankets or a stuffed animal you would sleep with

lovebug . lovebug

lovebug is my comfort character .. she is my cute persona, so when i'm hating myself i look at her & feel a little better bc she is a precious bean ..
