I also prefer only RPing with characters that are 18+; no shota or 'pseudo-shota' (those who look 5 but are somehow 18).
I am 24 years old, male, and reside in EST-5.
About me and what I'm looking for:
§ Plot. The plot of an RP is very important, which calls for a decent amount of collaboration. I don't want my partner (especially if you contact me first) to shrug off all responsibility on me, as it then becomes a chore. Even if you're trying to be accomodating, please don't just defer all opinion to what I want to do. Come with ideas, we'll work off each other's concepts, and come up with something coherent together. It doesn't have to be a Toni Morrison novel (ie. super complicated), but I'm also not that interested in something as generic "they're college kids that have a class together".
§ 1x1s. The only type of RP I'm interested in at this time. Groups are a bit intimidating to me, and I personally find 1x1 RP far more fulfilling anyway.
§ Literacy. Please try. Try. I've come across far too many people who boast about not giving a crap about grammar or spelling, because I guess that makes them cool, when in reality it just means I can't even begin to comprehend what's being said in their writing. I don't mind the occasional spelling error, or mix up of 'they're' and 'their', so long as I can understand what's being conveyed to me, punctuation is being used properly, and you try.
§ How often I post. Depending on what's going on in my life, I can usually guarantee a post at least once a day. Admittedly I can be a little slow to start out, as we're getting a feel for things, but as we get more immersed in the concept we're writing out, I tend to speed up. If I'm sick, working nonstop, or dealing with IRL nonsense, I may take a couple days, but will always try to let you know if I'm going to be absent longer than a week or two. If I fail to, you're welcome to give me a nudge, I won't be offended!
§ Post length. I tend to range between two and five full paragraphs in any given reply, but that also depends on what I've been given. Starters and descriptive scenes tend to be longer, while interactions and dialog can be a bit shorter. It also depends on the number of characters in a scene; as controlling two or three characters simultaneously will mean a longer post as well. I don't expect a novella (and prefer nothing over five or six paragraphs), as that can be a chore and kinda takes the fun out of the collaboration. Just give me enough to work with. Anything less than a full paragraph is kind of a waste.
§ Sexuality. My preference is MxM couples, as the majority of my OCs are male and I am not comfortable with heterosexual couples. I am, however, also open to FxF couples, and even though I don't have many up on toyhou.se, I do have a handful of other female characters in my brain that I can dish out, or make up someone new. As far as the interactions go, I tend to lean very dramatically away from the assumption that there is always a 'top' and 'bottom' or 'sub' and 'dominant' in every relationship. 90% of my characters are switches all the way, and the 10% that may have a preference are still not total tops or subs; it just depends on personality and circumstance. I usually don't really enjoy RPing with people whose characters are strictly one way or another, as it loses some realism for me. But I'm open minded--so long as you aren't throwing out yaoi terminology, I'll at least be open to suggestion!
I will not RP any poly couples, not because I have an issue with it, its simply not a dynamic I can relate to or wrap my head around, so its not one I explore. Threesomes and 'triangles' I'm open to, so long as things don't get too melodramatic or elaborate. I also thrive on romance, so its generally something I always like to include. Nothing uber-Disney, mind you (I like to explore a realistic development of feelings), but I also admittedly get bored with purely platonic relationships.
§ Characters. While I have a lot of pre-established original characters, I'm also open to making up someone new for an RP, and in rare cases, even playing a canon character (basically only comic superheroes and a few game canons). You can view any of my available characters by clicking the 'single' tag on my character page, along with any other tags that may help narrow down your search. If a profile isn't filled out, feel free to ask me more about them! Otherwise, I'm likely to just make up someone new. We'll figure out a setting, a plot, perhaps a specific dynamic, and then I'll figure out someone that fits. I'm also very open to playing multiple characters! In fact, I quite enjoy it, and feel it brings some depth to a plot when there's more of a world to explore.
§ Setting. I'm very open, but my preferences tend to be modern fantasy, modern scifi, full scifi, or superheroes. I'm generally not as into medeival or high fantasy plots, but I can be swayed by an interesting enough plot, or the opportunity to use a character I've been craving. I also love to create new worlds, planets, dimensions, realms--it allows for full creativity and control, and can be really fun. The only thing that kind of bores me is slice-of-life RP, but even then, if we can come up with an interesting enough plot, I'm game! (I have a few of my own, in fact)
§ Communication. I won't RP over skype or other instant messengers, period. I'm also not keen on adding someone to my messengers just to plot, because if it doesn't work out, I then have a stranger in my contacts and thus comes the awkward stage of 'when do I remove them?' For that reason, I'd much rather communicate and plan out an RP through PMs or emails, starting out the RP, and then once it seems we're getting along, I'm open to adding each other elsewhere. That said, I only RP over PMs or email. I'm also open to private forums, meaning a phpbb forum I would create on my own domain, rather than something public that other people can see. I never RP over skype. It seems to be the preference these days, but I just can't get into it.
That aside, please feel like you can always come to me with ideas, concerns, or suggestions. I want a collaborator, not a follower, someone who will surprise me with their own plot twists and indeas, someone who will bring their own concepts to our plotting sessions, and also someone that will let me know if something is bothering them. I'm not a mind-reader and I don't want anyone enduring something that makes them uncomfortable.

Pairings & Basic Plot Concepts
I've got a whooole lot listed on my tumblr side-blog that you can view HERE. There is also a CANON LIST, showing canon characters I'm open to playing as, or canon settings I'm willing to play in. Ignore the originals page, as its a bit outdated (but if you do see someone on there that appeals to you, feel free to ask).
