ic glitch do not vex me in this way
inspired by the various "ship with an oc above you" threads (there are what like four of them) and this bruno mars tweet: in this thread you take a peek through the above user's gallery, pick one of their ocs, and pick one of your own who would just fucking hate them. who's gonna annoy your oc the most. who are they most likely to throw down with. who most deeply conflicts with their own moral code. negative relationships are great ways to deep dive into what really matters to a character imo so i thought this'd be interesting!!
some rules/notes
- this is intended to be an ooc thread a la the various "ship with an oc above you"-type threads but if people decide they want to write an ic reply i can't stop them
- you don't necessarily have to choose whichever oc the above poster picked for their post, you can choose any of theirs and any of yours!
- this thread is all ages and not intended to be dark so try to avoid low-hanging fruit like "alice hates bob because bob commits domestic abuse" like god yeah i'd hope so alice
- if we're getting into darker content though then specific content warnings and spoiler blocks are non-optional. just blacking out a sentence isn't enough, you gotta say what you're blocking it out for
- this is about ocs hating other ocs and not people hating ocs so if you're gonna take it personally that your oc is not entirely beloved or you're gonna take your beef with someone else's existence out on their character maybe this is a bad thread for you

Saffron wouldn't probably hate him in general, but rather hate how he turned out. She secretly has a soft spot for people in a similar position as her, and would try to help as best as she can without acting too out of character. Maybe she would give him something non-alcoholic when he comes by and makes a minor fib, or she might attempt to convince him to abandon his playboy path and do something better for himself...perhaps study so he could be a lawyer? Haha. However, she would be distraught as she realizes that some people can't be saved.
She doesn't quite hate Dean, but rather she hates herself for failing to help him, and expresses her frustration at him for this fact. Yet, she would always deny this when questioned, claiming that people like him are a lost cause.
They wouldn't be the "I'll get you one of these days!!!" kinda enemies, but I get the feeling Saffron would hate Mr. TV a lot.
He's all about getting high ratings, nothing is sacred, so the minute he hears about the first ever dog-cat marriage he's going to shine a light on that. I think he'd show up after Clyde gets hurt, assures them that by making a documentary out of them it would show to the world that they were actually people to not ridicule or hate but to accept! And I think with his kindness compared to how everyone's been treating them, Saffron and her family would expect.
Honestly, Mr. TV might have actually tried to authentically go that route. He would have shown that they're a loving family, kind people and all that, but eventually he'd see the views dip, and he's known longer than anyone that drama makes them come back. So he'd still keep those warm clips, but it'd be easily overshadowed by the candid camera views that would take a glimpse into her failing marriage with Pumpkin, or how the kids are handling the world. Everything that went on with Saffron happened because of the tragedy she was already going through, but Mr. TV didn't make things easier.
I'm sure she'd come to resent him and would no doubt try to break their contract, but he's slippery and I'm sure had tons of fine print things making her stuck as his reality TV star for a long, long time.
Like the thread says, you don't gotta make enemies with Mr. TV, you can pick any of my characters!
You're a fool to play into Jackson's hands like that, Noel  These are all blessed ideas but I gotta tell you, the idea of Shrike and Jackson is so funny to me. Like a hero trying to stop a thief, and one that likes to like pop fireworks to show off, that's such a tasty combo. But I bet one day like Shrike probably captures him like in the trading game and they get this like frenemy kinda relationship, like her trying to catch him during his heists, but otherwise they talk about moms over lunch. Kinda like Megamind

i feel like the most likely person of mine to ABSOLUTELY DESPISE MR. TV would be Otto, mostly because Otto would be the type to say "this is fucking witchcraft" right off the bat and thus try to pummel the poor tv man, and the fact Mr. TV can literally nab a part of people's souls would genuinely infuriate Otto, which... good on him, honestly. I'd be a bitch to Otto. It probably doesn't help that he has a poor ass level of willpower, and if Mr. TV managed to trick him [or blacklist him!], it would just piss Otto off even more because he really wants to think he's the big cheese of the world, and then this BOX MAN comes along and fucks everything up for him.
and another one-- i was really tempted to shove Shrike at Jackson, but TBH I think Shrike would respect him just because he also likes milfs, so it's a tough decision. I landed on Noel, though. Noel hates nearly everyone, but I feel like he would in particular despise Jackson, since the old guy doesn't take well to flirting, or thievery, or cheerful ass people. he's a grumpy little bitch and after his many failed relationships, wouldn't take well to being hit on. as in he'd probably attempt to kick Jackson's ass.

August's entire thing is that he hates gods, he hates how they treat Fate and Destiny like playthings and blames them for his bloodline's constant misery.
So he would absolutely hate The God of Chaos. God of Chaos kinda checks all those marks by what I can tell, he's all-powerful, all-knowing, but likes to mess around to get rid of boredom. August would interpret that as actual proof of his views of gods, and he'd see it as God of Chaos treating people as toys rather than actual lives that feel actual pain and sadness, even if God of Chaos authentically loves humans.
August's story is that to get rid of what he considers a family curse, he needs to hunt down each and every god. I think they would run into each other a lot because of this. I think God of Chaos would be amused at first, but would probably at some point get annoyed because August keeps exposing him in front of people he's trying to be disguised around. At some point they'd fight, with God of Chaos most likely thinking that if August learns he can't kill him he'd give up, but there he'd learn that August actually has some god blood of his own and can deal damage. I don't think it'd be enough to give God of Chaos any real worries, but I think it would reignite that amusement, and he'd mess with August because of that, like constantly trying to get in his mind about the hypocrisy of being the descendant of a god trying to kill his own kin.
I think August would be more of the antagonist between the two; I could see him constantly trying to fight God of Chaos and God of Chaos thinking of him more like a kid throwing a tantrum. But I think it'd be the kind of rivalry that, after time, starts to build up on both sides until it turns into a good season finale fight.

Honestly, Pickle (I can't tag so bear with me here), put Rane against any of your villains and chances are, he's probably going to pissed off by them all. I think Gwen can handle most of them, Smiley might unnerve him, but Rane? Looking at them before commenting here, and I don't think there's one he could tolerate or get along with. Out of the bunch though, I think both Mr. Tv and Kul T would probably make him so mad, he might combust right then and there.Â
Rane likes people who he can argue with. Someone like Viper, who will actually give in to it and I feel like those two in specific would talk in such an infuriating way, that he'd just be like 😤😤😤 the entire time. Mr. Tv would probably get him a bit more because from what I've seen of him (and I adore him), he's sort of floating on this kind of innocent spectrum of villainous altitude, so being like: hey bud, ur being bad and being met with his response would just make everything worse.Â
Alternatively, I don't think Rane could handle NV either, because they might plainly creep him out. Even if he knew their inner thoughts, he would be very rash and still very like, "well that's ur problem u think ur ugly!! Stop stealing people's faces" rather than understanding or empathetic (like gwenchan). Nobu also too I feel would make him want to punch something or get sassy and agitated.Â

Anyways, let me start off by saying that Loren is an excellent antagonist. He's so well-developed with his reasonings for doing this, his feelings towards his actions and people he interacts with, his upbringing that lead to his personality, and explaining how he got so manipulative. I loved reading about his profile!
That in mind, my original thought was my detective, Freddy, being his enemy. He's a smart guy, he would pry, Loren would hate the prying. The ORIGINAL of that original idea was that maybe Loren met Ethan and earned his trust, and the more they spent time together, the more Frederick would get suspicious and recognize signs of manipulation, hence starting their beef.
However, when I finished reading his profile, I had a much better idea (to me, at least). Reed is a band director, though in the future he becomes a college band director. Either way, I think he and Jasper would meet through school. I'd like to imagine that Jasper's kind of a problem student at first, acting out, being mean to the others. It'd be tough. But over time he would warm up to Reed, and they'd spend a lot of time together working on music. Reed would give him some guitar lessons, teach him more about it and how to properly write music, would encourage Jaspar and support him; he'd be like a father figure to him, which for Reed would mean a lot considering he lost his own kid.
With Loren coming out of jail, I imagine he'd be really, really angry to see someone like Reed moving in on his family and erasing everything he worked hard to instill in Jaspar. I'm not sure how exactly Loren would try to get at Reed, probably by trying to psychologically break him considering how already fragile he is, and Reed trying to endure and keep Jasper safe.
In the end, two dads fighting.

I think my Brazilian dictator Anaximandro would be less likely to get along with Nobutaka than he would be to survive a day without donuts. While he would definitely approve of the mob boss's actions(since neither of them really appear to have morals), Anaximandro would constantly harass him to try to prove that he's better at crime. It would be unfortunate for the citizens of Brazil when he ramps up his identity fraud at their expense, just to prove his own superiority. The fact that Taka is taller than him(by only one inch but whatever), would just make him all the more angry. Â Anaximandro would definitely do anything and everything to get on Taka's nerves, such as laughing whenever he loses a game of bowling and constantly asking if he's yakuza or not. I really don't think it would end well for Anaximandro, though.
Anaximandro would probably be the one to initiate all of this, since his desire to remain at the top is stronger than his desire to be reasonable..

I don't think my girl Emerald would get along with Anaximandro. Sure, she has to deal with some real eccentric underlings in Team Shiny, but she knows there she's the top dog. She can fire them at any time if their antics get too much on her nerves. However, she doesn't like feeling less powerful- so having to face a dictator would set off a bit of an inferiority complex within her. She'd also find his fashion sense incredibly gaudy and bad on the eyes.

I feel like Roxy and Hero wouldn't get along because Hero would be absolutely afraid of her, they've never seen a demon in real life but knows they're bad guys from their comics. That and they don't really like competing, preferring to work together with people. (it was so hard to pick a couple of them because i feel like most of our characters would get along lol)
