Hjordis lost her arm a long time ago, around when she was a teenager (Or the Pokemon equivalent) thanks to a fight with another Pokemon that went very bad, very quickly. This was actually how she met her future husband, as he was the one to save her at the time.
Hmm, I might play around with that concept! Her looking for a companion that's either on the same level as her, or somewhat more powerful.
She obviously ended up gaining a small hidden crush to the king, but she doesn't know that she has a crush on him yet
I'm thinking that Ruby tried various sports prior to baseball. The first thing he tried was actually football because it's cool™. But he also dabbled in swimming, and soccer as well. He almost joined wrestling but saw one of the dudes break their nose and decided that, that wasn't his thing. Finally he tried baseball and it was love at first hit.
hype has an almost cynical attitude regarding ouija boards. on one hand, they're super fake, and you're more likely to contact optimus prime or twilight sparkle than any actual spirits. on the other hand, it's stupidly interesting to see just what kind of urban folklore pops up from people thinking they're talking to spirits because someone jiggled their hand weird and spelled out "zozo" or something.
When there aren't any islanders to observe, or their conversations simply don't hold her interest, Olympia turns to daydreaming as a way to occupy her mind. The thoughts that come to her are rather simple plots, and rarely involve others for her lack of personal interest in them. Instead, she tends to imagine the ocean, and pitures herself plunging into the depths in pursuit of an elusive catch. She finds these daydreams relaxing, and sometimes makes the additional effort to fantasize what she could fetch at the market for her fictional prize.
Lysanthir often finds himself catching others mocking his way of being, especially during his visits to other allied kingdoms. If he turns around at the right time, he may find a villager or two turning up their nose, high stepping like well-trained horses in an attempt to make themselves caricatures of how Lysanthir truly holds himself. It used to bother him, but now he believes it is their jealousy of his position that makes them poke fun at him and entirely disregards their antics.
