Listen to the song from the user above you!

Heya! Figured I'd start up a thread like this as I abolsutely love finding various music, and noticed there isn't a thread for this here yet! Plus, thinking on it, a good few of my OCs are inspired by some songs and music in general, and it never hurts to be on the hunt for more music to check out!

Basic Rules:

1. The person above you will link you a song to listen to!

2. Give your thoughts on it - is it something you liked, or is it just not your cup of tea? Did it inspire you to make an OC on the fly? Feel free to express this as much or as little as you want! (Please be respectful and civil in your reply, though.)

3. In the same post, link a song for the next person to listen to!

[edit] 4. If you're next in line, please claim before going ahead; I totally missed out due to IRL things going on, I realize some people might of been Ninja'd! So let's try to avoid being ninja'd from now on <:"D

EDIT; PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Heya! I've gotten a few concerns from people that go through this thread that some may of been a bit disrespectful about one's tastes in music. Music is something it's obvious not everyone is going to like the same thing, but I must remind you to PLEASE, be respectful to the person above you when having shared music. If it isn't your thing, please be kind and simply say "It wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I'm glad you like it though!" or something nice along those lines. Having someone be told the song you chose (which might even mean a lot to you on your own terms and reasons behind it) is horrible or nasty, can be a bit rude. Let's do our best to keep polite and civil here while we all jam out to some awesome tunes! Thanks!

All good? Let's get started! I'll link over a song for the first person to start things off!

First song: The Maddest Kind of Love, by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

supernovad

ohh dang that is a catchy song about butts! I'm not usually into acapellas but this is an exception (probably will get stuck in my head; probably gonna sing about butts)

I love this band sooo much and I saw them live a like 2 weeks ago! It was so much fun and I wish they got more attention! This song was a blast live and I have a video of I took of it! Arguably the best version of this song.

Girls Just Want To Have Fun by STRFKR

aska-ray

Pretty good cover. It's all right, not synthpop ENOUGH for me imo

I stumbled across this this morning....i LIke it quite a lot.............

kissu

my first thought was "damn thats one long ass song" but when i started listening to it it gave me the "dAMN THATS ONE GOOD ASS MUSIC" -feeling LOL

idk how stupid it sounds but even from the start it made me think about something and someone brave who can only do what their life is asked to do, such as taking a good care of a small village and when the music goes on THE SHIT GETS REAL SOMETHING'S COMING NOW U GOTTA FIGHT BABY

i really like how it first sounds kinda "ancient" with its music and then becomes more.. idk, modern, cyborgic?? it just gets stronger and stronger until "the fight has been won" and then it gets beautiful and soft again >v<b 10/10 would listen to again

Forgotten Sorrow

Caine

I already liked the intro to this but I legit got chills when the vocal part started ;_;
Definitely goes to my faves!

Tahdon tanssia kanssasi  I hope youtube let's people outside of Finland to listen it sdfg

Taebasco

rip my internet. ahhhhh the song is very interesting . idk if i'd listen to it often. but it reminds me of something i'd hear in a tv drama or a sad scene of a movie.

https://youtu.be/mvFSBebnOww mmmm probably not a cup of tea for most. but its one of my fav artists tbh.

Pinky

(the post above me doesn't have a song linked? it says "editing in a sec" but it is a half hour old so... i'll come back and check later, will edit my post if a song gets posted LOL)

i literally just dug out the potpourri thread for this but i'll come purse first in here too - song starts around 1:40 in but the intro adds to the experience would recommend

I like how it starts super chill and amps up through the song! I dig it.

Bottom of the River by Delta Rae was played for me by a friend and I can't get it out of my head. This is a shortened version for the video, but you get the idea. ;)

chiliechii_inactive

Bruuuuh, I really love this song?? I guess it's a guilty pleasure of mine when there's stomping and clapping. It gives off a very southern feeling and that's really enjoyable! Definitely favoriting this omg.

Chu chu lovely muni muni mura :')

Helminthia

I know I -just- went, but I really love that recommendation! :o It's so high energy, oh man, makes me want to dance. It's not quite the same sound, but you might like Baby Metal, if you haven't checked them out yet. ;) Try Gimmie Chocolate first, maybe.

(Also saw that you're an NSP fan, yesss~)

Aikaikaik

Ahhhh I recall of listening to Baby Metal! I don't listen to it enough :"D I love how it's a mix of genres and ahhhh it's always fun finding music that does that and sorta just puts a few genres of music together, and it sounds so good~

Speaking of Mixing genres, next song I'll throw in is A Tap Dancer's Dilemma, by Diablo Swing Orchestra B)

aska-ray

Hey yo it has a lot of Finnish people behind the production!
I really like this and the musical vibe it has, I really wish these kind of songs were produced more outside of like actual musical productions !! ;;;

Tender remains
