Listen to the song from the user above you!

Heya! Figured I'd start up a thread like this as I abolsutely love finding various music, and noticed there isn't a thread for this here yet! Plus, thinking on it, a good few of my OCs are inspired by some songs and music in general, and it never hurts to be on the hunt for more music to check out!

Basic Rules:

1. The person above you will link you a song to listen to!

2. Give your thoughts on it - is it something you liked, or is it just not your cup of tea? Did it inspire you to make an OC on the fly? Feel free to express this as much or as little as you want! (Please be respectful and civil in your reply, though.)

3. In the same post, link a song for the next person to listen to!

[edit] 4. If you're next in line, please claim before going ahead; I totally missed out due to IRL things going on, I realize some people might of been Ninja'd! So let's try to avoid being ninja'd from now on <:"D

EDIT; PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Heya! I've gotten a few concerns from people that go through this thread that some may of been a bit disrespectful about one's tastes in music. Music is something it's obvious not everyone is going to like the same thing, but I must remind you to PLEASE, be respectful to the person above you when having shared music. If it isn't your thing, please be kind and simply say "It wasn't my cup of tea, sorry. I'm glad you like it though!" or something nice along those lines. Having someone be told the song you chose (which might even mean a lot to you on your own terms and reasons behind it) is horrible or nasty, can be a bit rude. Let's do our best to keep polite and civil here while we all jam out to some awesome tunes! Thanks!

All good? Let's get started! I'll link over a song for the first person to start things off!

First song: The Maddest Kind of Love, by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

sweetybeedy

Okay, I really have a soft spot for intense orchestra pieces! I’ve been playing the violin for almost 7 years, and this was so pleasing to hear! However, the vocals are a bit too high for me, but I guess I understand, because it’s from an anime. Gotta have those high voices, haha.

Here’s a short song, one of my absolute favorites. https://youtu.be/AR_R1kt4V54

GeckoSauce

Oo that song gives me a older kinda feeling! It's similar to what a few of my other family members listen too. I personally wouldn't listen to that genre, but whenever it's played I can still go with it. I'm pretty easy when it comes to music.

I like music that kinda makes me forget, puts me in a kind of trance state I guess. This is pretty much my perfect driving song.

Kenmai

the song is a little too slow for my liking, but i do like how peaceful the music sounds... it's nice :0 it sounds like something i can relax to after a long day or fall asleep to
somehow it reminds me of a kind of song i'd hear on the radio years and years ago, so it gives me an odd nostalgic feel despite u saying it's a new song haha

---

idk why but this song gets me pumped despite it being kinda edgy it's not the normal kind of thing i'd listen to but i really like it for some reason

Gyrwolf

(Replying to AlleycatIrony’s song) I quite like the sound of it; it’s energetic and catchy! The lyrics just aren’t the kind of thing I’d like to listen to normally.

Song to listen to: What Are You Waiting For by Apollo LTD. I discovered this band a month or two ago and I feel like they’re really underrated.

Edit;; rip, I killed the thread

I think the above is a really fun and lively tune!

It's different to the genres I usually listen to but I can appreciate the sound :>

Might listen to again. Thanks for sharing. ^^

edit: ahhhh i know you're the song below me, but yES TWENTY ONE PILOTS lol

CallmeKomodo

Oh heck that's pretty. That is now going on my playlist! It's not something I would have normally found, I need to play this game more often!

This is my favorite song   Ms. Believer

colorful

I'm not too fond of Western bands but I really love the vocals on this, and it's quite soothing to listen to www

The slow progress on the instrumentals are so good, I can listen to those strings forever... then suddenly, that bass drop dang it's a joy to listen to

Not something I'd listen to everyday, but it's so good far!

Here's some of my emo songs when I was 14-15 wwww how about Mafumafu's cover of Neru's Life Prolonging Treatment? Neru's stuff has always been a big influence to my works so wwww

Take note it may sensitive to some because of the flashing lights and the lyrics mentioning hospitals, sicknesses, and death though!

MxMartyBellvue

OH MAN i was way into the voca/utau scene in 2010-2012 this is a Big Nostalgia Hit for me despite this not being an Old Song it’s just like, the whole culture of the community’s Barely Changed in my eyes but that’s not a bad thing... god i miss that

this is like... one of my favorite songs by her and i have a lot of favorite songs by her. the harmonies...

like everything was so raw for her recording that entire album

(Real Blood Warning for the album cover, dried blood on glasses but... god)

circlejourney

I was never sure if I liked Yoko Ono—I've heard some of her music; some I liked, some I don't quite understand (just like her art tbh).

But this is such a serene, meditative song, and the repeating lyrics which describe imaginary scenes really drive that home for me. Those soothing guitars and the little bell accents on top, it's an unusual but lovely choice, it kind of reminds me of...old Chinese songs my mom listens to? And you're right, it really goes up a notch when the harmonies come in! I'm really enjoying those distorted guitars also, I love it when they take on an almost flute-like quality. As someone who's never really been familiar with the style/genre, I really like it!

First track from the first album I ever bought. Vienna Teng is relatively little-known and I hope someone else enjoys her stuff as well!

AlleycatIrony

it's not the kind of thing i'd normally listen to but there's smthn abt it that's really nice? her voice makes me feel relaxed and calm u know? i'm not rly sure how to describe it but the song rly does just make me feel at ease :0

---

a big nostalgic song for me <3
EDIT: oo can't say i've heard of them i might have to check them out :00

ChosenUndeaad

Kinda reminds me about System of a Down?? It's a nice song, I enjoyed it, but I really can't shake the feeling that it sounds like a mix of various SOAD songs hhhh ;D; not for the whole song, but... for a huge part of it, and that really bothered me. I won't probably listen to it again because of that, it just doesn't feel right, y'know??

One of my fav songs from one of my fave band, who I was able to see live!
