"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. :)"

Smiley's voice was a calm hiss, yet it somehow was audible over the roar of his weed whacker.

"Two wonderful people with not-so-wonderful frowns on their wonderful faces. :) Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. :)"

He lumbered towards Ran first, not seeming fazed in the slightest by the sword, partly because of the blood-stained paper bag covering his face. The smiley face drawn on it seemed almost wider up close. "You can't go around calling people stinky and grumpy. No, no, no. :) That's not what friends do. That's not what nice people do. :) That's not fun. People can't be happy when you don't give them any fun. :)" He tilted his head. "I know a young one your age. :) He's very fun. He observes people. :) He gives them comments that make them happy. :) Have you made a single person happy? :)"

He tilted his head back to look at Maribelle. "And you. :)" he hummed. "Never happy, never smiling. Always speaking from anger and sadness. :) Such negative emotions. :) They're so strong around you. They wrap, wrap, wrap you up. :) Have you ever smiled once? :) Have you ever once been happy for an entire day? :) Have you, have you? :)"

Gripping his machine tighter, Smiley tilted his head down to be able to see the two at the same time. "It's okay, it's okay. I forgive you both. :) Happiness can be so, so difficult, can't it? I know, I know. :) So I'll help you! :) Let's play a few games. They'll have you both cheering and beaming in no time. :) How exciting! It is, it is! :) Let's start with hide-and-seek. :)"

Legion CaeliGlori

The Legion contorted and writhed around Smiley, their voices bickering with each other as they began to cast their judgement upon the masked serial murderer. Dislike wasn't a word they often used towards individuals, but this was an exception as they discovered a sin that they could never forgive.

"You know little one, at first, we did not hold ill will towards you. There is pain that simply can never heal without witnessing the sweet release of nirvana." Legion emoted a sinister grin from the gentle blue wisps that followed it. "You only wished that you have given their souls to us when you were done with them. So they could be free from body and mind. No more shall they drift into quintessent dust for all for time. But we can forgive that notion. However..." They looked down at Smiley, as their smile began to crackle and fade into array of wisps. Their human-shaped face began to crack, lose form as they release themselves from their human shape.

"We despise those who take them too early. To derive their souls of all the experiences in the world they will never get to feel, because of you."

There was no cheerful facade in their voices, only the cacophony of sounds that flood their surroundings. "They cannot consent to such a choice that ends their existence prematurely, for their souls never know what they truly want." The tension of their voices only rise. Until it stops. The wrath of the Legion seemed to stop abruptly, their frustrations dissipating with the collective.

"Oh, our pardon. We shouldn't have riled ourselves up so much so quickly. Regardless. May we never see you harm the little ones. If we do, we will take you for ourselves. Take care." <3

NV PicklePantry

     Perfection.

NV couldn't stand perfection. Such a cruel angel it was, blessing countless people with the perfect looks, the perfect voice, the perfect eyes, the perfect lips, the perfect mind--
And here was Isolde, granted each and every single one of those traits. A talented composer and musician with a mind as sharp and witty as the finest blade, and with looks a beautiful combination between elegance and mysterious. She wasn't granted anything by Perfection, she was Perfection. The look on her face, it was as if she was tired of the admiration and yearning she received daily from people. To be so gorgeous and talented that one could be bored by it, it was something beyond anything NV had ever dreamt of experiencing.

     It wasn't fair.
It wasn't fair it wasn't fair it wasn't fair it wasn't fair it wasn't fair.

If she didn't want anything like that anymore, could they have it? Could they get at least one trait? It was only fair. They could get all that love and adoration she was tired of.

"You... admittedly, I'm unsure if dislike or worry is the right word for this... but an eye for an eye will inevitably make the entire world go blind. Your goals are noble, but don't lose yourself in the pursuit of them."

She frowned gently at Santana, remembering who she reminded her of - her older sister. A soldier just like her... a soldier now lost in the stars. Of course, while equalizing the economic playing field was an important goal that should be strived for... Allisriedia didn't exactly agree with the methods being used.

"Your ambitions are pure, but misguided," Ark mused as he stepped into vision, arms folded behind his back and his gaze calculating. "Everything was taken from you, save your daughter. Wanting to protect her, it's a goal I sympathize with, but I was too late." Briefly, he paused and avoided looking at Zz'eishadei. When he looked back at him, his expression was stern. "You can still protect her and get to a better life, but I'm continuously getting frustrated with watching the dislikable decisions you've made." He extended a gloved hand to him. "Allow me to help. I can't do much as is, but perhaps later down the road you'll be able to help me do more."

     And for once, he smiled.

Viper muichiro

A sharkish smirk sets to his visage. He snorts a laugh through parted teeth and rolls the tip of his tongue against the front row of his teeth. "What do I dislike about you? Wow, that question is so difficult I don't think I can answer it! I mean, I just like you so~ much~ you know?~" Fanning himself with a hand, he drives his mismatched eyes into him. There's a twinkle of judgement in their color. "Really- I dislike how serious you are. You should let loose a little sometimes. Be young. Have fun. Spend some of your money on me and take me somewhere nice~ Why don't you start now, hm? I can make a bomb call and we can watch an entire building of idiots evacuate afraid for their lives. Doesn't that sound exciting?"

Holding grudges was not in the nature of Degare Moriceau.

He did not hold grudges towards the people who cornered him in barn, taunting him until he tore the flesh from their cheek with his teeth. He did not hold a grudge against the woman who took him by the chin and wrenched his head violently so that he would hear her, her hot, fetid breath on his face. Not even the man who held him prisoner in a castle room, dictating that he would stay there until someone wanted him. And, in this instance, not the pet who threw him into a wall.

His opinion still, however, was that Alistair was dreadfully socially stunted, and there was no way academic knowledge could really save that. Twenty-one years had passed for Degare himself, but time did not flow the same in these other worlds. If Alistair had grown, he wouldn't know. He didn't look that much different.

Degare, however, did not want to stick around for long. He was cautious not to allow his assistant to visit with the man, half in fear of what would happen to her. Frankly, he cared even less for the presence of Alistair's so-called owner, and although her staying to tutor his pet in mathematics and celestial mapping did not necessarily mean he would have to be there... better safe than sorry. The professor doubted she would know how to act, anyways.

..So. Alistair's everything and Ren's everything -- that was what Degare hated about them, as much as this wretched place.

And so, he remained swift and straightforward, speaking plainly: "I have your reading materials from Miss Bardales, sir. Enjoy them."
