What do the above user's OCs say about them?

Posted 6 years, 4 months ago (Edited 6 years, 4 months ago) by pajuxi

Some pals and I thought this would be a cute and fun thread!!

How this thread works is that you are going to look at the above user's entire collection of characters on TH and share what you think they show in that user's tastes! It can be entirely based on visuals but if you want to go above and beyond (winks) you can also look through personalities/stories and see if theres any common themes or ideas!

an example response would be something like:
" @(username) based on your OCs I think you have a lot of interest in victorian aesthetics! You like happy ending to stories and also have a fondness for curly hair!" you can be as in-depth as you want and its fine if you are not 100% exact because its just meant to be fun/ its fun to see what other people gather about you from your taste in characters!!

RULES:
-make sure to claim before writing so we can reduce people getting ninja'd!
-you have to have at least 3-4 characters visible to play!
-if you have a lot of characters with problematic content/backstories/etc. please give a warning for that in your post!
-play nice and don't be rude or mean!

and thats it! I'll start off the thread- to the person below me what do you think my characters say about my tastes?
(dAMN AUGUST CALLING ME OUT ON MY CHARACTERS RIGHT OUT OF THE GATE FKJHGFG       )

PicklePantry

Sorry, I'm not very good at writing a lot in games like this but I'll give it my best!

The first thing I noticed were the folders. Fantasy, modern, even CS, there's a large variety I can see and it gives me a little peek into what kind of writer you are: an adaptable one that's not short on ideas. I also noticed that they all have your art for icons, it makes them match. Another thing about them is that the eyes always stand out (except for 24S a;slkdf). The eyes, combined with the frowns (I think a couple had a small smile, but there's never a widely happy expression I've seen on the icons) shows that there's more to the character as is. So it's like I get my first impression, I see a dynamic pose I see a little bit of what the character is like, but I see how their eyes are bright compared to the colors, and how they all have this kind of tell that there's more depth to them then what a glimpse can provide.

For the characters themselves, there is a LOT of information on the majority of them, and even then, when I see a blank profile I'm more than sure you already have ideas for them, whether it's on a document you need to transfer or just need the time to write out. The impression your characters give me is that you're a writer, definitely, and there are books that you want to make. Whenever I read a profile's background and personality I feel like I'm reading a book-- and that's not a bad thing at all! I mean how it's constructed and voiced, and how it explains everything about the characters as well as their thoughts during those times and emotions. It tells me that you love your characters and think of so many things about them, and that you're not afraid of exploring deep topics like war or death, and exploring the different effects it can have on people. I feel like any character you pick up is put in good hands!

from what i see i think you're super into noir/mafia-esque looks? (the whole black and white kinda thing going on LOL) the amount of faves/pics/comments/links also tell me that you seem to be quite popular/active in the community! you also seem to have a huge preference for dudes and are probably a super cool person if that picklesona is anything to go by LOL

SapphireBatWings

OC's like Byun, Victor, Bora, and Hoshino make me want to say that you're into maybe the kawaii/nyan aesthetic. Byun, Victor, Hoshino, and Greyson leave me with the impression that you like kpop perhaps? All of these OC's just give me kpop vibes. I'm also wanting to say that you have a pastel vibe and tend to prefer softer designs?  Your characters just give me an overall pop and music vibe so I can see you being into that and probably magical girls and characters that can shift into animals. I feel like you might be on the shy and very friendly side. Perhaps an optimist with a sweet tooth?

Caine

SapphireBatWings I have seen a lot of your characters in forum games and interacted with them in the past, and I think something that has always stood out to me is how strongly LGBT+ your cast tends to be. I feel like this is particularly strong in Achi who is your profile picture too, since a lot of her story revolves around her gender. I don't know you personally, but from your characters I assume you're probably part of the community in some shape or form and enjoy exploring different minority identities in your works. I have also gotten the vibe that you enjoy "darker" fantasy with a lot of darker colors and this certain kind of "bleakness" to it as opposed to a colorful and whacky fantasy world, at least based on the characters I have seen from you.

You seem to participate in the adopt community to some extend, but most of the characters with extensive bio and pictures seem to be pretty much exclusively be by you! A lot of them seem to be fan characters too, so I get the feeling you prefer keeping adopted designs for more "hobby" kind of fun stuff and in turn your original creations as part of more ambitious projects.

Yokuzumi

Caine From just my initial observation of your characters, you seem to be a very tidy person when it comes to tagging, organizing and coding character profiles. The amount of information you put into most of your character profiles also tells me just how much time and care went into them as well as your interest in storytelling :)

Design-wise, I noticed that most of your characters seem to have pale hair (usually ranging from a blonde color to red/pink), sometimes a pale aesthetic overall, and are relatively young (ranging from teens to young adult). And their general aesthetic gives off some fantasy (and/or Victorian?) themes. From that I'm guessing that maybe you enjoy fantasy/folklore in general? A lot of them are also LGBT+ so I'm assuming you may be a part of the community as well :) Overall you have so many well thought out characters with pleasing color schemes <3

What I first noticed about your characters is that you seem to like not-quite-human humanoids, and fantasy-ish settings in general? Even characters who might look like mundane at first (like Victoria) can actually be mages and meet supernatural creatures such as deities! Despite everything, they also have more mundane and relatable sides to them. You also seem to put a lot of care into character relationships, especially families. It's something I noticed not only in Victoria's bio, but also your fan characters like Eren for example! Your characters' upbringing often seem to influence them in some way or another. Another recurring theme I noticed in your stories is going against expectations and fighting against the rules of their world-- something that can be seen in Demon's Reign, for example.

Your folders are very neatly organized; one can see at first glance that most of your characters are meant to be story characters, and even in said story folders, one can easily see what role each character plays. You seem to like matching icons, at least for characters who are from the same story! You seem to be the kind of creator who prefers to do everything by themselves, writing your own stories and let your characters develop within their own lore and universe, and not take part in roleplay or CS communities!

(Btw I know I posted here quite a lot in the past so @ NP if you claimed me years/months ago feel free to give it another try, I won't mind lmao- 735266566316490772.png?v=1)

Getting major introvert vibes from you! I feel like you were the quiet kid in primary school, or you were homeschooled. You probably liked (and like) to read a lot, judging from how developed your characters's personalities are! You prefer to keep to yourself, and other peoples's tastes and preferences don't affect you as much as your own do. Judging from how consistent your art is in terms of keeping to your characters's designs (the hair tufts are drawn consistently throughout your pieces!!), you also possess a strong attention to detail!

(Also, you giving me low-key memelord vibes, but like, subtle memelord. Your Pinterest is probably like memes, art, and some fandom stuff thrown in for good measure.)

yanderechips

After looking through tons of your art, i have come to the conclusion that you really like the themes of edgy and pastel. A lot of your characters are either of your categories. You also really like light and fluffy themes, unless specified. You really like LGBT themes, since you're probably a part of it. You also really like coffee and give off coffee shop vibes. Like you're really calm and soothing, ya'know? You prefer things more detailed other than simple. You also have some anthro/feral characters (did i use that right?) So I assume you really love dogs and cats. I also feel like you're that one quiet kid in the classroom who just doesn't want to be disturbed by drawing.

RatKingUmi

Judging by your ocs, you give me the vibe that you enjoy creating worlds for your characters and building an environment around them. You enjoy darker settings (I saw, mafia, monster and royals tab) and enjoy to tie your ocs together with interesting relationships, friendships and families. You are more on the side of making villains then heroes, prefer the "bad guy" over the good guy; "ratty" characters are fun to make for you, you also like to tie in darker real world issues like mental health, crime etc etc into your oc's backstories.

Based your characters I'd say that you like simple designs. You are a meme lord and probably play Among Us 24/7.

Caine

AnxiousWitch Based on the visuals of your characters you seem to prefer natural, often more muted colors over unnatural and bright ones! Your character profiles are very well organized and have simple & clear layouts, so I imagine you value practicality and wish to convey information in a way that is easy for others to approach. With several DnD and fandom characters I'm also gonna assume you enjoy a good mix of doing your own completely own thing but also enjoy the structure and more "hard" rules of already established settings and stories. I could imagine you probably feel pretty relaxed when jumping from personal project characters to fandom/tabletop rpg associated ocs. A lot of your characters appear very androgynous too, so I imagine you probably like androgyny from an aesthetic point of view, though you may have a more personal connection to it as well!

Lickity_Split You seem to participate in the adopt community quite a lot and on several sites, including the "less" known ones like instagram and amino when it comes to the character market (a lot of people tend to do their adopt business on TH, dA or FA instead, at least in my experience). I get the feeling you're not too concerned with having "unified" designs and instead enjoy having all sorts of characters and designs. You also seem to love your fursona a lot, given that they have the most art out of your characters! Also, funnily since you mention memes and among us on your comment, I also get the same feeling from you that you're very meme savvy and also love among us (given your fursona even has an among us design tab)!

Caine

judging by your characters you like to have your character profiles very tidy with lots of information! along with that you seem to love human and humaniod characters(but lean more towards humans.)  and you like characters with more formal clothing. you also prefer to make all your characters rather than buy/trade for designs! judging by your taken to a certain folder when you click on your character tab,you care a lot about having your characters finished or semi finished when it comes to developing before their released to the public. along with that you like to have your tags very tidy and you like to draw or get art of all your characters. very frequently too considering everyone's art count. all in all you really care about developing your characters and giving them loving homes. :)

bittersweetness so based on ur characters it looks like you really like cute & anime aesthetics, though you've still got a wide range of design preferences. pastels, bright colors, & clear aesthetics are probably the most common themes around ur characters. it also seems like you prefer to trade/buy or otherwise acquire characters & designs from others rather than making them yourself, though you do still seem to from time to time! & the fact that most of them don't really have info, or only have a few lines, says to me that either you just prefer to collect cute designs rather than writing stories & worlds, or that you're preoccupied with other things that make you unable to write for them or code profiles x) (which is ok, btw!) it could also just be that the sheer number of characters you've got makes writing a slow process, if you are the writing sort. and speaking of the large number of characters, it could also be that you're a little indecisive, collecting & making designs faster than you can write them as characters! (which is also ok lmao, i've been there aslkjdflskjdf)

v i'm really picky with my anime but if i could find some good robot animes that weren't relentlessly horny you bet your ass i'd be watching them - though for what its worth i am Super big into transformers, which has its origins in japan! i'm more into sentient robots than mechsuits piloted by humans but hey that's still a really close assumption so i'll give it to you x) IIRC little witch is on my watchlist, though i haven't seen it yet. and i def love astronomy! space, stars, it's all very fascinating to me and i try to catch cosmic events when i can, though i've only got my eyes & binoculars to see them with. i'm not a hard believer in zodiac signs but they're still fun to check up on just for kicks!

thank you! i've tried a lot of different ways on dying my hair, but it's all non-permanent or doesn't come through very well since i refuse to bleach my dark brown hair and ruin it ; w ; i'm probably going to invest in wigs when i've got the extra cash, i've got a bubblegum pink one i used for a cosplay and honestly i look so cute with pink hair. i'd dye my hair so damn much if i could,,, you're also right abt me being artsy n scatterbrained, i have one braincell and it bounces around my head like a DVD screen saver. my brain switches to daydreaming the second it's unoccupied and i live most of my life on autopilot as a result asdfljksdljkf

you're right on the last point as well, queer & trans rights every day babey! you were pretty close or right on with most of ur assumptions, im surprised my characters say so much about me xD but it's really cool too!
