šŸŽ¶ Imagine a title for the theme of the OC above

Posted 6 years, 3 months ago (Edited 5 years, 4 months ago) by fuelli

What would be the title of the music theme of the OC above you, if they had a custom one in a video game or a series?

  • It is heavily recommended to read the OC's bio a bit before coming up with a title. Using more than 2 words per title is also preferred when possible.
  • Titles in other languages than English, (preferably when justified, and grammatically correct), are authorised. Just be sure to include a translation!
  • You can also add a quick description of what the theme would sound like in addition to the title, but it's not obligatory. The main goal is just to come up with fake titles.

Be nice and have fun!

Going with the idle / battle thing you did above :U

IDLE:Ā How's this for patience?

A theme that starts out slow and calm, kind of rocking side to side like a boat with a bit of a pirate theme going on in the background, and it lulls you into a sense of "oh, they're a patient person" before smacking you in the face with a (still pirate-ish theme going on in the background) guitar, then going straight back into the slow and calm!

BATTLE:Ā Drive To Ascendance

Maybe a rock // metal themed piece of music // battle theme where it's really hot-headed and confident, but with breaks of harp inbetween? But along with all of that there'd be a high-energy beat in the background throughout all of it, so even the calmer bits don't really feel genuine :O

SARANGEREL DALAMIQ NYAHILISM

idle: Brief Reprieve
As his conversational theme, Brief Reprieve is a sleek, chill acoustic guitar track. It sounds sort of like something you'd hear in a dive bar, but quieter and more mellow. A brief clattering of castanets marks the end of the song before it loops- something to knock you back into your senses before something shoots you down.

battle:Ā A Taste of Gunmetal
At this point, you have officially fucked up. AToG is still an acoustic track first and foremost, probably sounds a bit like this? (link is to an improvised irish-style acoustic guitar performance.) In the background, you can hear a choir chanting in some unknown language. I don't think it would be latin, but if it were, it'd probably just be a restaurant order.

boss: Alexandria Burning
The choiral singing gets louder in this one, but the acoustic guitar is still there. It's accompanied by electric guitar as well. However, most of the song is a very low-pitched stealth-mission type. It picks up around 3 times- in the beginning, middle, and near the end- but fades back into the low strumming very quickly.

Alrighty, so, since I'm a musician, I went a little overboard with this, haha. They got some actual music that I recorded for you!

Idle: The Whispers Got Softer - For this song, I was thinking of a very soft, very somber sort of tone for this. The sort of feeling you get after a really hard rain. Since this would be the theme for when they are relaxing, I think something a little lighter in comparison to their normal malaise. To replicate this, I used a kalimba, a ukulele, and a guitar to create a very homey vibe. I also used a melodica in the middle to have a little more of a somber counterpart.

Anxious: Haunted Head, Hallowed Heart - For this song, I was trying to create the feeling and intensity of what they have to deal with, due to the heavy emotional toll that the ghosts must take on them. To create this intensity, I used some heavy fingerstyle guitar, along with a heavily edited jembe and rain stick to create a very oppressive and jolting energy. The song is also constantly getting faster, outside of an interlude, to create that feeling of panic. Towards the end, I even add some of my own falsetto to create that sort of ethereal feeling. Ā

I hope you like the pieces!

Father Geldman GLITCH-DXCTOR

IDLE: "A Gentle Sort of Power"
I'd imagine this theme to be on the peaceful side, with a gentle tone about it. It's like something you'd hear in the background of the beginning to a movie about life on a farm--a sort of sunrise theme, if you will. If this were in a video game, this song would play when she interacts with Wendy, an excellent backdrop for a meaningful and emotional scene.

MINIGAME:Ā "Get Yourself Moving"
Ah, yes, again with the video game theme thing! If Olva were to have a minigame of her own it would definitely be like the Tomodachi Life football game, but with arm wrestling instead (the harder you tap the screen the stronger you push). This song would be upbeat and exciting, with a lot of spunk to it! I'd imagine it to be playful with quite a bit of trumpet.

BATTLE:Ā "Skin of Shale"
This would be really intense, like the themes in movies that play when the penultimate threat is looming before the main character. It would definitely be heavy on the drums; I'd even say that'd be the most prominent instrument, with plenty of crashing sound effects within, sort of mimicking the crashing of rocks during a rock slide.

OH MAN THESE ARE WAY COOL! Thank you so much!!!

Alright, so I hate to hog the thread, but I also made some you some music to accompany your wonderful character!

Home: Cherry Trees and Family - If this were a game, this would be the music that would play when Father Geldman got back to his house; presumably it would be some sort of save point. The piece is composed to represent both the serenity of the house and the stressors of the day. During the middle section, it gets more intense and busy, just like a normal day would; but ends rather softly, much like how I assume Father Geldman associates seeing his husband and kid. I used guitar and kalimba to create a very acoustic and relaxing feel

Battle: A Nightmare's Nightmare - This is a tune meant for when Father Geldman is out at night kicking nightmare tail and keeping the streets safe. It is meant to make the listener feel more bad-ass as they protect the town. As such, this piece is very rhythmic and fast paced.Ā I used a bass, guitar, melodica, tambourine, and jembe to have a very kinetic and powerful tone.

I hope you like it

Idle: Paranoia.Ā A low, swaying bass, with hints of a slightly out-of-tune viola. Itā€™s screechy, and comes to an abrupt stop whenever played, as if the player is embarrassed. TheĀ is accentuated at the end of its loop with bells that most people associate with wintertime.

Battle: Freeze!Ā A quicker-paced version of his idle theme. The screechy viola becomes more frantic now.Ā It leaves the listener on the edge of their seat, as if waiting for a drop that never comes. Loops seamlessly.

Boss: Retribution.Ā Bells and a quelling orchestra. The wintertime bells turn into church ones, and get louder and more discordant while still retaining a melody. There is no viola.

Idle: Stay Safe!:Ā I feel like this one would be calm sort of cute but slightly techno track, like the background music to a cutesy indie 8bit gameĀ (something like this). The sort of song that puts you in the right mood to have a good day! Just a nice relaxing song.

Battle: The Hero's Justice:Ā This one is much more intense, a deeper darker sort of song. The electronic theme is still there but this time it's much more intense and puts you in the right mood for a battle that you might not win... (something like this)

Idle Theme:Ā Bubblegum Breeze

Yes, I know, this probably isn't bubblegum, but I decided to incorporate this into multiple titles. Probably somethingĀ like this.

Battle Theme:Ā  Blitz! Bubblegum Spar!

It's the battle that really isn't. It's more like an adorable Match-3 Duel, like, maybe it'd be music for a game such as Puyo Puyo. It'd probably sound like the first minute or so of this.

True Battle Theme: Blitz! Stop in Your Tracks!Ā

Okay, so you've messed with one of her friends. She's gonna shoot your face off now. It's intense, yet still upbeat. It's like a Kirby theme, particularly this one.Ā

 Aika hydrangeas

Idle theme: Shining NaĆÆvety

Ā  Something that's pretty quirky, with like little robot beeps and stuff? Kinda cutesy to reflect her innocence, but also pretty quiet and chill~

Serious theme: Final Bastion

Ā  I mostly read the apocalypse AU for this,,,, this would definitely have a more metal, heavier sounding track, but not really rock? Something more impressive/ frightening to reflect the loss of hope?

Alphanix I actually made a little bit of music for your lovely character, haha

Idle/At Work: A Sunset For Sara - This was primarily inspired by his soft spot for Sara and how he makes the sunsets as pretty as he can for her. I tried to replicate that sort of gentle power and care that would go into his work to end up making a masterpiece. I used a little bit of guitar, ukulele, kalimba, and some soft vocals to create that sort of tender and relaxed feeling; like the kind you get watching a sunset. Or, in this case, making one.

Battle/Confrontation: It's A Matter Of Virtue - Since he is such a soft and care-free boy, I don't really see him having "battle" with anyone except Eros. Since is primarily with him, and almost always over what's best for Sara, I tried to emulate more of a showdown feel. I use a lot of revolving rhythms to sort of represent the back and forth between the two. For this one, I used whatever I could get my hands on honestly, haha. Guitar, ukulele, melodica, jaw harp, tambourine, djembe, triangle, and even a can I had on my desk, haha. It is more rhythm based than melody based, but it also uses some of the main motifs found in the song above to connect it back to Sara.Ā

I hope you enjoy!

Tsuki Matsudo bulgariansumo

Idle: Long Arms of the Law - A pun on his unique physique and how he uses his newfound power to rule over his employees.

Battle: Blood Money Big Shot - Mainly based on "He had to work hard to get where he is now. It took blood, sweat, and tears; most of which were not his own." (btw, I really love that part of his bio!)
