I'm one of the people who actually got their art, and I'd advise against commissioning them anyway. When they delivered the picture to me, they asked me whether there was anything they could fix. They missed drawing a barrette. I normally never ask artists to make changes, but considering they offered and the correction was simple, I asked them to do so. To which they promptly yeeted themselves out of the conversation and never spoke to me again. I wasn't ~that~ mad considering it only cost a fiver, but it still left a sour taste in my mouth. If they'd just told me they wouldn't make the changes, that would've been fine, but not communicating at all is inexcusable.
The offender seems to be sorry about what happened and geniuinely wants to fix things. They are actively going around offering refunds to everyone involved, to my knowledge.

I'll be keeping the history of what happened under the spoiler tag so that those involved in this situation can look back at the info. However I have removed some details that I feel is better left unknown now that they are actively trying to redeem themself.
Moral of today:
1. Do not commission people who seem to have a long, unmanageable waitlist
2. Do not pay via Ko-Fi(without the commission module) or other donation platforms
3. Do not assume that people will simply forget after a year or two. If people remain silent, it is from grace and not forgetfulness.
More than a year ago, a bunch of people and I bought an icon commission from NoisySpaceship (they have now changed the name of that account) and paid via Ko-Fi.
As you can see in the waitlist a lot of us haven't received a comm. They swiped at least $140 (if everyone but I ordered exactly one icon without any additional fees (which, i know for a fact that many if not most people ordered at least two.) After re-reading the thread, it turns out people on the waitlist paid upfront as well. That brings up the absolute bare minimum to $190. I believe that the actual amount we're talking about is around $250.
They posted an update on page 7, promising stuff to be done 2~3 weekends later. This was the last public update ever given.
Now if you check page 5 and 6, you can see that nitocris (now sleepey, do NOT contact them regarding this matter) had a conversation over comms that they didn't receive in the past. noisyspaceship handled this badly and pulled the "i gave you a refund after an eternity without a real apology/notification, what's the problem i returned it lol" card on page 6. Nitocris, being the bigger person, ejected themself from the conversation respectfully.
This leads me to believe that this person is a repeated offender of accepting commissions as interest-free short term loans. Except this time they didn't repay their loan.
I have tried to reach out to them via the thread and messages and they didn't respond. I sought out their dA and they didn't respond. The dA page is now deactivated.
I was unable to chargeback since this payment was done on Ko-Fi before the commissions feature, and every payment counted as a "donation". Besides everyone was too kind and gave them eons of time to get this sorted out and I'm pretty sure the payments were ineligible for chargebacks by the time people started trying to contact the artist.
I had the same experience with no feedback.
It's very upsetting to see them on a new site since it clearly shows they have the capacity to refund us. At this point, that's all I'd be interested in. If for whatever reason they were no longer interested in completing the commissions, that would've been a simple fix.
EDIT They reached out to me on their own and have refunded me, so here's hoping that everyone else will receive theirs as well!
I never received a commission from this person. Contact was completely shut off and they never replied to my questions in their old thread on TH. In fact, I had actually forgotten I had commissioned them. It wasn’t until I was pinged that I even remembered.
Payed for the commission and never received a refund. It sucks, because I was looking forward to receiving it! It’s been over a year now, so chances are, it’s not going to happen.
caelums hey I hope you don't mind the ping but they seem to be sending a note to everyone who they owe in regards to refunds so they might have not gotten to you yet! (I just got the note and thats how I actually remembered they owe me art) but yeah i'm really disappointed I never received the art :(
Rikki Hi, thanks for the concern. I have restored some of the info that I believe is needed for those involved with this situation. Noi and I had a private conversation since I uploaded this PSA, and while I can't disclose any information in our conversation I can assure you that I believe greying out some info is for the best. They seem to have had a good lesson on this whole situation, and they were pretty young when this all transpired. (Can't exactly mention their age becuase it's dangerously close to doxxing zone)
From what I see from their current art shop (yes, I did a lot of digging that was left unwritten) they are pacing themself properly and providing decent feedback to their clients now. Also the above few posts leads me to believe that they are indeed trying their best to provide refunds, even though only some will get their refunds considering how much time has passed.

hi! i haven’t been active on dA or TH, but they owe me an icon as well. i have reached out here and on dA in the past, but they have yet to contact me on either platform. can anyone tell me which platform they are using to communicate rn, and if they are still under the same username? and has anyone received their refund yet?
