BIG BIG UPDATE (12/7/2019): ASHIE-BABY herself contacted me a few days ago!
She contacted me here, on toyhouse, regarding the matters of everything that happened. In her message, she expressed that she wanted to make amends with me over everything that happened despite how long it's been and she admitted that she was wrong in her actions and that they were not defendable.
And we all stan some growth, m'kay ?? Can we get a round of applause ??

No, but seriously, I shouldn't have to say this 'cause I hope everyone knows, but. People are changing and growing every day and the fact that Ashie reached out directly to me and apologized as well as told me to let people know about contacting her about such similar matters as she would like to make amends even though it's been years is very telling !!! (I will be pinging whoever expressed similar experiences with her so they may contact her at their own convenience !!)
Disclaimer: Beneath this is the records of what had happened in 2016, three years ago, which lead to me eventually make this buyer beware thread. You can look, but as it seems that she's turning a new leaf in 2019 (!!!), to indulge in her past actions seem rather moot point.
Ahh, I hate the idea of doing stuff like this (as a matter of fact I've never DONE this before), but I feel like I should AT LEAST warn everyone if this Artist peeks their interests.

Back in 2016 I commission tumblr user ashiebaby (or ashie-baby?) ((You'll know why in a moment why I can't remember their tumblr url :'/ ))
So back in 2016 I commission Ashie-Baby on tumblr because they were having a thigh up sale, $10 instead of $20. I had never seen their art before, but I quickly liked it and since I had the money to spare at the time, I commissioned them for 5 piece of art (because why- why not I just really liked the art at the time), all of which came to $50. I contacted them on tumblr (excuse my confusion words in the screenshots from back then) and then they told me to contact them over Gmail, which I did ASAP.
However, after that interaction, I just didn't hear from them! I followed them on tumblr after seeing their commission sale, and from after the point, I saw them post occasionally, but nothing in relation to my commission- hell, I didn't even get a email or message from them.
Months later (or so?) after commissioning them, there was a post about how they were coming back from a trip and that they would be sending out owed commissions once they got back. I waited a few days and then contact them over DMs about my commission status, but they didn't reply. Sadly, I don't have screenshots of that. And I. do not HAVe that piece of information. because,

they deleted their tumblr soon after.
I was kind of at a lost to do for a while, a part of me was HOPING that maybe, just maybe, they just forgot to get back to me, so I waited. and waited. Months before I messaged their gmail again:
They Never Replied.
And somewhere around then I attempted to call paypal to get something done about this, but the person who I got on the phone told me there was nothing to do but get a strike or something on their paypal account/reputation? Which is. Great. Doesn't get me back my $50.
So. After all this, imagine my surprise when randomly being on Instagram and they pop up in my recommendation list. like

I say it like I immediately went for the jugular but if I remember right I chewed on it for a few days if not a week plus before sending them a message because I'm a polite chicken unless severely or repeatedly provoked skjsljkdgf But yeah, I DID contact them ! And they actually replied and said they were going to refund me, but then. Well....
That Eye... Haunts Me To This Day... MONTHS Later. orz
So, anyway, yeAh. That's what happen to me. PLEASE BEWARE
I especially say this because, even after saying they were going to refund me, that I've seen them open commissions and do follower giveaways multiple times! Please don't get screwed over like I did!!

I've had a similar experience with her but different outcome. Also I'd just like to say that I would be cautious of commissioning her. But if you get an adoptable from her, it's okay. She sends over the files and the adoptable is yours.
So back in dec '17 she had 'pay what you want' commissions. I was only following on her insta at the time. Anyways I commissioned her, I payed her $10. 3 days went by and I find out she has twitter too so I followed her there too. It seemed she was more active there with updates and whatnot. She tweeted she was streaming commissions on her youtube channel, and at the start her stream I saw her write my username on her to do list. So I thought it get done during the stream... it wasn't. I message her that day on insta because I saw she tweeted that she was going on vacation for a week. She told me she'd finish it after she came back. December went by nothing, it was now mid January and I was angry. She was now doing do regular commissions, and I was wondering when going to get to mine.
That same day I was streaming on insta, and I was just ranting about this situation without saying who I had commissioned because I hate drama. And after I finish ranting, she pops into my stream. I was confused for moment but I remembered she follows me on there. She tells me and she's sorry the long wait and that she'll finish my commission that weekend. So I was excite because after a month of waiting; she was gonna FINALLY DO my commission. But that didn't happen. Now I had midterms during this time so I was stressing out over that so forgot about this whole thing. And the only reason why remember was about it because she posted something on insta. And so I message her saying that she STILL owes me a commission. She asked if she could refunded me, and I got back my money in full. It was february when this whole thing was resolved.
It just sucks because not only was she doing other commissions but she was making speedpaints. So it wasn't like she didn't have free time. And I just say add that I've bought 2 of her ocs after this situation (don't judge me I really wanted them). She was really quick with sending me their files and whatnot. So premade stuff/adoptables you're gonna get but I like I stated above commissions are a gamble with her.

Nah, don't worry about the length! It's Good that other people know that this wasn't a one time deal. But, Gods, that sounds so annoying, but absolutely what happened with me but it was more dragged out, I thankfully got a refund a few days ago and I've just updated this thread post about it, but Gods. Just Gods. Total Butts :/ (Also I ain't judging you on the adopt thing, I feel tha t)

They made up some BS excuse on twitter about how their tablet "isn't working" lol - you're not the only one they've left hanging. "Idk how long it might be till I'm able to draw-" they offer refunds yet won't even respond to you on instagram thanks for the beware

GodDAMN this is... this was all a lot worse than I thought sldfjsdkglj like... on their Instagram they update literally today, like... c'mon now. With that, I really wanted to give them some type of benefit of the doubt, but like... nah, they're horrible ?? What the heck;;; But also no problem on the beware! Thank you for looking at it!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has had problems with her..
I commissioned her in February, over Discord. One icon and 2 thigh-ups (one was a couple drawing.) The total was around $60, but since I ordered so much, she slashed my price down to $50, and let me pay half now, and half when she finished my commissions!!
I was thrilled, she was my favorite artist at the time, and kind of an idol to me. She said she was "having money trouble" and from what she's said, she didn't have any kind of job outside art at the time. (Unsure if this is still the case, or if this was ever the case.)
About a month passes, and I get my icon on March 1st! (on Got to watch her work on it in-stream and everything. I was so excited to get the rest of my commissions. She's still talking about her money troubles in her Discord, so I send her a $100 donation while I'm waiting for commissions...
A few weeks later, she starts a stream, and tells me she's going to work on my commissions! But the stream only lasts a few minutes because she has to suddenly leave. She streams a few more times, but never works on my commission. As far as I can remember, she only really finishes icons.
Then, suddenly, one day, she deletes her server. I just come home from work and it's gone! I follow her pretty much everywhere at this point, and the only thing she says about it is that it's gone. I get no reasons from her, though I did message one of the admins, who let me know that it was pretty much like that for everyone. One second it's there, the next it's gone.
Like I said, I follow her on every platform I have, though I'm only really active on Deviantart & Toyhouse. I have post notifications on for Twitter and Youtube. At this point, I'm still patiently waiting for my commissions. I watch every speedpaint she uploads and every stream I can. She post on Twitter about things like trips to Disneyland and buying carebears merch (now, I'm not saying it's wrong to splurge every once in a while.... but she and her family have been so strapped for cash that they cant even buy food, according to her posts!)
I end up supporting her on Patreon (where she offers a fullbody commission if you pay enough, btw...) and she posts for maybe a week before going silent on Patreon. I forget I'm pledged to her, which isnt too much of a problem, because Patreon will not send money to creators who are unactive. She did talk about re-opening her server.
Come May, I finally decide to ask her about my commissions again. She tells me she forgot my discord handle (understandable, it changes quite a bit) and even gives me a sketch, telling me she'll have it done by Friday. Friday comes and goes, nothing from her. I tried contacting her again, but Discord's updated so that you can't contact anyone unless you're in a server with them, or they're on your friends list. I send a friend request, which she STILL hasn't accepted or denied. It took me a lot of courage just to type up the message on discord, so I don't try contacting her anywhere else.
Around August, She opens her Discord Server again, and I take the chance to join so I can message her... no reply. Been too anxious to try contacting her again, but I'm going to try today. Wish me luck and sorry for the long post..!
