Dragonoids are the mutated descendants of humanity after a great cataclysm called the Howl, a thousand years ago. They're heavily distorted, to the point of looking more like dragons than humans according to other survivors (now long extinct).
This thread is a place to announce events, new adopts, and just discuss the species! Note that while the dA group has an ARPG aspect, it's not required; it's meant to be a fun bonus.

Because it's a well-known asshole move to directly compare a generic term used by many, many things to a specific property, especially if it's something that is very obviously not being changed due to how long the generic term has been in use. It was not a response for your benefit.

I kind of snapped over a pet peeve of mine that's come up with this species's name before is most of what happened.
ouch o: tbh though- the species name makes sense in context? like, these're mutated humans- y'know, the same species that looks at an animal and goes "that animal is long and yellow and wiggly- i'm gonna call it a banana eel". we've a tendency to name things based on appearance, and usually very simple (and sometimes rather silly) names to boot- so it makes sense that these folks would rename themselves in a similar fashion.
dragon is a fair comparison to their current appearance (and personal headcanon- most of the folks in-universe who were in favor of the name largely just liked the Coolness Factor, but there was also a sense of wanting to feel stronger and mightier in some way after the literal apocalypse), and -oid would naturally follow- since they not actually dragons, just similar looking.
dinoid, or some variant, probably had a few proponents in-universe, but dragonoid flows a bit better and y'know. dragons. who wouldn't want to be compared to a dragon? lol
