name subject to change lol

An idea I'm still fleshing out for a species called Ponpuri! Aliens from the planet Ponpurila

They're bipedal, plantigrade, and relatively human-like in build and anatomy. Like humans, they can have varying heights and body types.

  • Skulls follow a humanoid model as far as proportions and bone structures go, including facial features like noses. HOWEVER, a more human-like nose can be substituted for a feline-like nose. Similarly, facial structure can follow more of a "snout" shape, but snouts are often flatter to the face like a cats, rather than having longer snouts like a dog!
  • They have hair as well as a very short, soft layer of fur on their bodies. Some Ponpuri, with effort, choose to grow out their fur and even style it, and it's not seen as unusual!
  • They have five fingers on each hand and four toes with pawpads on their feet. Fingernails are typically short but can be extended into claws in the off chance a Ponpuri needs to defend themself and has nothing else. Feet have short claws that are not retractable.
  • Their ears can be basically any shape except humanoid/elven, and can sit anywhere on the top or sides of the head.
  • Their antennae can similarly be any shape and color, texture, consistency, opacity, etc! They can also be soft or rigid like antlers. The antennae are used to sense temperature and atmosphere shifts around them.
  • Outer ribs and segmented tail are part of a smooth exoskeleton. Eight is the most common number of outer ribs, and are generally small and unobtrusive. Tail is segmented and made up of two to ten segments. Segments are typically uniform at birth with the cap segment forming into a unique shape matching the Ponpuri over time! Tails contain a venom used to incapacitate other species, but among fellow Ponpuris, it causes hallucinogenic effects.
  • Interestingly, tail segments are detachable! It causes pain to a Ponpuri to remove a segment, but it's not uncommon to see a Ponpuri with a segment or two completely out of place from the rest.
    • As far as uniformity among segments goes, segments don't have to be exactly the same. Like the antennae, they can be any shape, texture, material, etc. The only stipulation is that most of them at least look like they belong to the same Ponpuri lmao

Also, this is a species that wears clothes!

This includes shoes, hair accessories, jewelry, piercings, and even accessories on their tails and antennae!

That's what I'm thinking for basic lore and physiology but I'm pretty open as far as customization goes. Pretty much everything can be customized as long as the ponpuri has the outer ribs, segmented tail, and antennae!

id love to hear thoughts and am open to suggestions!

if they garner enough interest i'll make some adopts and create a ping list for a myo event!!
