Hologans are a closed species I'm making with the help of a few friends. As it stands, I'm the only one working on the design and development of the Hologan species. The species was only conceptualized a few days ago, and is thus in the very early stages of development. I'm looking for artists, designers, writers, CS mods, and anyone else who would be interested in joining the team to help me develop the species! I'm specifically looking for help with the visual design of the species, and help with cementing and polishing the optional lore!
The goal of the Hologan species is to make a closed species that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to get your hands onto. We hope to have frequent MYO events and are developing a trait list that doesn't completely squander peoples' ability to create unique designs just because they don't have a Legendary token.
Since we don't have a trait sheet yet, here are a few Hologan design examples to help give you an idea about the species! Please note that these aren't finalized designs! These are just quick samples I made to show some of my ideas!
Another thing about Hologans is that we want to offer complete freedom in how you write, use, and play your characters. We do have some lore and a setting, but this is completely optional. You are under no obligation to follow the lore at all! Additionally, part of the lore says that Hologans are about six inches tall, but this can be changed by whoever owns the Hologan-- they're six inches in our lore, but they don't have to be in yours!
The following lore is a work in progress!
Hologans are small robots created by a reclusive roboticist. They were built initially for assistance in trivial matters- arranging meetings, managing notifications, making calls, etc.- but over time the reclusive roboticist developed their AI. More and more Hologans were built for companionship rather than assistant work. At their peak, the roboticist had over thirty living in their house to keep them company.
After a certain apocalyptic extinction event, humans were wiped off the face of the planet. Their creations, their buildings, their machines, their Hologans, however would survive. After the event, Hologans were forced to build their own communities in the ruins of human society; entire cities sprung up in the remains of malls and houses slowly being reclaimed by nature.
As previously mentioned, the trait list hasn't been finalized yet. This is a list of planned traits and their rarities, but this changes frequently and is nowhere near completion!
Face Plate: Hologans can have a face screen that serve to create the face and expressions. Not all Hologans have one, and some have face plates that only partially cover the rest of the face.
Arms: Hologans arms are holograms projected from their solid body, and can take a variety of different appearances and colors. These, like all of the holos on their bodies, are susceptible to damage which may cause glitching.
Note: This list is missing some examples.
Tails: Made with the same projection technology as the arms, tails are also susceptible to damage and glitching.
Head Holos: Projected from the head to create ears, horns, and other accessories.
Note: This example list is obsolete and will be redone.
Cavity: Being constructs, Hologans need certain items or substances for power, which are stored in their chests. The cavity is a glass window that allows one to view what it is that's powering the Hologan.
Power Source: The source of the Hologans energy that is stored in their torso and viewable through the cavity.
NOTE: Everyone who is a member of the Discord server before launch will get a free Legendary MYO slot! Because of this plan, we've also decided that if you're a member of the server you can begin designing your Hologan before launch! So make sure you join!
We're very interactive with the community during the development process, so be sure to join in order to have your opinions heard during the development process! I frequently ask for members suggestions and opinions on the designs, so this is your change to impact Hologans before launch!
