Because the species is semi-open, folks are free to start designing common conikyrns, but all rare coni items will be launching with our discord  server (likely later this month!)

Basic Species Info

Conikyrns are born at times of great energy output or massive emotional events — usually the result of large gatherings and a lot of excited energy. They will pop into existence at the height of excitement or thrill or deep love for other people & places, and because of this most conikyrns' birthdays are celebrated in their communities as an anniversary of something important & meaningful. Most conis will be born with a small "X" symbol on their stomachs, a simple representation of the crossing paths of energy that created them!

When a conikyn first pops into existence, they have two predominant colours: one colour for their skin, and one colour for their fur. These colours will be a part of their fur & skin patterning for the rest of their life! These colours also represent something about the event that created them, such as a festival based around fire birthing a bright orange baby with charcoal fur, or on a smaller scale a birthday party might create a child with the same skin & fur colours as the cake and its icing. There are no limits to when & where a conikyn will be born, and even a single conikyrn can accidentally stumble into summoning a new baby into the world by working passionately on something they love - emotions built up over years or all at once are both powerful forces.

Once a conikyn is born, it will begin to absorb images from the world around it, which will start to manifest on its body; the conikyn born from the excitement of the fire festival may be taken home with a group of tailors, and their skin & fur might gain the patterns of certain kinds of cloth or textile designs, or even interwoven images of tape measures and embroidery thread.

Written Trait Guide:

coniLogoTraits.png

Mandatory Conikyrn Traits

Exactly four eyes

Rabbit/llama-like ears

Symbol on stomach that contains an "X" somewhere

A static base colour for their fur, and a second, different base colour for their skin  - these will remain the same for their entire life

At least 1 additional colour on the fur and 1 additional colour on the skin - the average is 6 colours on the entire  body. These extra colours can change over time

A nose with the same  colour palette as their skin - they don't have separate noses with  different textures like animals on earth do.

Mandatory Hair Coverage

The  head must be covered in fur, the face must be hairless with a 4-leaf clover shape around the eye section and cheeks (think Mickey Mouse).

The ears can be with or without hair. For each limb (arm, arm, leg & leg), at least half of it must be covered in fur - which half does not matter.

The only part that cannot be covered in fur are the hands and  feet.

There can be no fur around a conikyrn's stomach symbol. If it is a bigger than average symbol, this furless section must accommodate that; no part of the symbol can be obscured by fur!

The  pelvis and back of the neck must have fur, otherwise fur on the torso is optional

(Subspecies fur note: Coastal conikyrns' short tails must be covered in fur, inland conikyrns' tails  must be at least 50% covered in fur!)

Subspecies

There are two conikyrn subspecies: Coastal Conikyrns and Inland Conikyrns

As the names imply, the Coastal subspecies live along the coast of their island Solustus, while the Inland  subspecies are located around the hot, volcanic areas towards the center of the island. To learn more about the physical differences between the two subspecies, read on!

coniLogoTraitRarity.png

Common: The standard coastal or inland conikyrn, with the appropriate subspecies traits

Uncommon: Traits associated with the other subspecies are classified as uncommon, and require an uncommon trait ticket (single trait) or an uncommon MYO (as many uncommon traits as you like). Complex, coloured or large stomach patterns are also uncommon.

Rare: More extreme body mods are found in this tier! Stomach symbols can now be 3d objects, and placed in other spots on the body! Fused or eyes, segmented doll joints, plush skin and 3d skin & fur patterns all fall under this category.

Legendary: The most extreme body variations a conikyrn can have! Synthetic hair, liquid hair, asymmetrical eyes, skin & fur colours, as well as stomach symbols that can be glass, transparent, digital, etc.
