Devas
Devas (from buddhist Deva, the realm and its deities) are a Closed Species.
Their designs are based on gems and minerals as well as gold.
Personality
Deva are a peaceful species who are considered very beautiful due to their shining and palatial bodies. They avoid fighting and conflict, however are often being stolen away, kidnapped or made profit of. Despite knowing how attractive they are to other living beings, they do not pride themselves with it. Deva are generally a modest people, but know to use their qualities to get around. Living around other species, they are often occupied as models, living decoration or used as salespeople where appearance can give a big advantage.
 | TraitsDevas have several traits which seem to be equally common among all of them, but there yet seem to be undiscovered traits! GemsDeva can be made any kind of mineral. These reflect in their hair and eyes, which are always the same color. They usually very colorful and every part showing their gem shines brightly in light. A Deva can not be made of two kinds of minerals naturally. HornsA Deva's horns can have various shapes and always have veins of gold runing through them. Their horns are a popular spot to adorn with accessories, yet some like to not draw any further attention to them as their horns are a sought after prize. Some people go great lengths to break them off and steal them, and its not unheard of that a careless Deva has lost a piece of their horn or in its entirety on accident. Their horns cannot grow back. SpineThe "spine" reflects their gem or mineral as well and is part of their tails. Devas do not actually have bones, however. TailsThe ones living on land seem to all sport bony looking tails that are an extension of their spine-like adornment. Also another popular spot for accessories. Body-structureDevas do not have bones and will break and shatter into pieces instead. It is very hard to break them without using a harder material than themselves if not impossible, so a Deva's only enemy is their own species or those who utilize their horns or bodyparts as tools. Devas can break themselves if they are not careful and, for example, fall, the velocity causing an impact hard enough for them to crack or shatter. Luckily, they can reattach their lost pieces.  SizeDevas do age like most living beings, but because they do so slowly, young looking Devas can be much more mentally mature than their appearance might give away. Not all Devas grow and physically mature as much as others, leaving them with a more child-like or feminine body, while others can grow enough to be reminiscent of young adult human males. Maturer Devas are also taller than their less matured counterparts. AttireDevas are never sloppy! They are mostly seen wearing elegant clothing of high-quality materials. You will see them in comfortable clothes when they are on their own, but even then you will almost never find them in ripped, stained or otherwise sleazy looking attire. MascotTo your left we have Beau, the Deva mascot! He has, like every Deva, horns and a tail with spine-like gem ornaments that extend along his back up to his nape. Also, like all Devas, Beau is made of a mineral, in this case, Gold Sheen Obsidian! |

Hi! A few days ago I had the urge to create a gem based species because I love HNK and it inspired me to do more with gems ^_^ I wanted to incorporate other things I like like gold elements and cute kids
here's a first prototype! Their hair and eye color is based on their gem of course, but they also have their "spines" (they do not actually have bones) protruding slightly as adorment and is their most delicate spot. Since tails are part of the spine, I gave them tails that are reminiscent of spines and that showcase their gem as well! They come with various horn and tail shapes, at least that's whats planned. The outfit is very much inspired by HNK's uniforms lol... but not every specimen will wear the same! This example is a Blue Turmaline, but it won't be for sale.
I am working on fleshing it out, adding mutations and making a species info sheet at the moment, but I'm also slowed down by commissions. u _ u
also if you see similarities to yukibuns' latest off species adopt, I know, pls don't point it out further
