Kleurs - Opinions?

Posted 5 years, 1 month ago (Edited 4 years, 9 months ago) by entipikal

(This post was written a while ago but I'm still looking for opinions and you're still welcome to ask me to own a Kleur! I'm currently in the process of writing a MUCH BETTER bio and thread. Stay tuned!)

Not exactly an interest check thread, as I'm not planning on running this as an open/closed species because I have no idea how they work  but I want to see other people's opinions on the species I'm working on! And if you want your own, tell me and we can work on it! It's still a WIP, but maybe other people's opinions will help improve them! I don't know if this belongs in the creator's corner or character discussion, or here, so, here goes-

TL;DR - Kleurs are a colour-coded species with horns and floaty heads. Each colour, from red to purple, has a different number of magical orbs that float alongside their head and kind of keep them alive. Lots of people hate Purples because they're "weak" but they're not. There's also Shadows, formed from the ashes of dead Kleurs, which don't have floaty orbs, so they need to either seek out magic springs in the deep forests or attack Kleurs for their magic to survive.

Want to know more? Here's the big species bio! It's on Google Docs, and if I set it up correctly, you should be able to make comments and suggestions on how to improve. Or fix typos. Also you might see me typing! It's a bit of a mess right now. Warning, their society has a lot of what is basically racism and there's a few mentions of death and general violence. Keep yourself safe!
And here's the character folder! A few more are listed in the doc. A couple of designs under the spoiler tag.

This is my first time making anything OC related this complex. so please tell me if you notice something that doesn't make sense! Maybe I haven't written the answer yet, maybe I made a mistake. Who knows!

Thank you for reading and I hope to see your opinions!

Clandestino Wow, thank you for your thoughts! I'd completely forgotten this thread exists and I'm really happy to see someone interested in them! I literally woke up about twenty minutes ago so I'll hold off from answering some questions for now, but thank you for sending them!

As for an info graphic, somehow that's a thought that had completely slipped my mind! I doubt if I did do one it'd be as in depth as some others, but I will try my best! I might start working on one today, if not, I'll at least give you a ramble if that's alright. Either way it makes me unendingly happy that you're interested in owning one and I appreciate it a lot!

Escargot Aaaa I'm really happy you enjoy them! Yes you can design a red one, that's perfectly fine and hugely appreciated! I'm currently adding some design things onto the Google doc which might help you.

entipikal

Escargot I'm happy you're excited, I'm excited to see them!

It would be unheard of in-universe but that makes them more interesting in my opinion! One of the current characters is, after all, a purple that actually has a decent living. So yes, it's allowed!

As for the clothes, Kleurs are more or less hollow and piercings might not really work great, but small clothing items, such as a bandanna, bracelets, scarf, etc, are perfectly fine and give them more flair!

entipikal

Escargot You're not bothering me, don't worry! If anything it makes me happy to know you're interested-

Purples and blues tend to be shorter, greens and yellows tend to be the tallest and oranges and reds are kind of inbetween and average, but they're not exact rules, just generally what you see. If you want a short or tall red that's perfectly okay!

Oh and Clandestino I've updated the Google Doc with the answers to most of your questions! I'm still working on some but most of it's there

entipikal

Escargot Wow, I really love them! Eee, they look so cool, I love their pose too, you have no idea how much I love thiiis- Everything looks fine too!

entipikal

Escargot Yup! As long as it doesn't lean too close to orange or pink/purple, any red is okay! I'd stick to under four or five separate shades, if there's too many different shades it's not only hassle to draw but also might look cluttered

entipikal

Clandestino He looks fine! I really enjoy his design too, you seem to have a better grasp of how their hands work than I do- but really! I love his design! Thank you so much for being interested in this species!
