PSA - Dytri

Hi there everyone. I seriously didn't want to do this, I attempted to reason with this user multiple times. But I think it's for everyones best benefit if I talk about this real fast.

Last July I comissioned a reference sheet from a user on here called Dytri. After they said it'd be done quickly a week and a half later I asked if there were any updates and heard no response. I started to feel uneasy but thought maybe they were busy. A month later I attempted again to contact them, this time they answered but they said they had a lot of PWYW sketches to finish first. I accepted it, thing happen and artists take orders. It wasn't for another 2 months that I tried to contact them again on why I had been waiting 4 months well hearing nothing from them. This time I got no reply.

I tried DA, and got no reply. Finally I saw their FA was really active and tried there. After going through so much to try and contact them I just wanted my money back. They refused and said they had a sketch done so they'd only give me half of it back. I should have taken it but I honestly just wanted my art. As far as I was concerned that money was spent. They claimed they had a broken computer, and it made sense on why I couldn't contact them so I let it slide.

Until a few weeks ago I noticed they were active on FA still. Taking comissions, doing streams every so often, posting numerous journals and doing YCHs.  I attempted to contact them again but had no luck until I tried the email attached to their paypal and got a response saying they suddenly had no internet now that I had asked for my piece. For months they streamed, drew for contests, did ych's for money, and took comissions and suddenly when I asked for mine their net was down. I wanted to post this here since I saw on their To-do list there were some other Toyhou.se users.

All my proof is located in this link. Every message and response I recieved as well as their activity, which you can see just by going to their pages. I'm really sorry it had to come to this, I tried to resolve it peacefully and let them know ahead of time what would happen if they continued to try and account evade. At this point I've been scammed. Please stay safe everyone.

Update:

I have finally recieved my comission piece. They stated their internet is back so they'll be posting the art they owe people tomorrow. I told them to make a Bulletin to explain their situation and side of the story to Toyhou.se so no one feels scammed. We'll see.

That does not seem to be fair. I don't like it when that happens. Unless it was a free request, but if you pay ahead of time, you should be given a priority and be given updates. If the artists already have alot of stuff to do, I would not understand why they would accept more orders.

Sorry this had to happen!

I attempted to confront them about it, but once again they aren't answering. Regardless of if it was irresponcibility you should give what you owe before starting new pieces for funds. Prioritizing making money rather than doing the work they owe. My biggest concern is their account jumping to keep away from the work they owe.

Yikes that's terrible, thanks for the PSA! I'll definitely take note of the artist ~_~

Vespisia

Hello! I've added your PSA to the thread over here:
http://toyhou.se/~forums/thread/13734.general-thread-for-psas/1

I'm really sorry to hear that's happened to you though, have you considered posting to Artists-Beware perhaps? :( I've had to post a few bewares there myself on artists.
//rubs your back   I hope you CAN get a resolution to this situation.

PetitexCosette

Vespisia I did submit it there a few days ago. I'm honestly really upset it had to come to this. I thought their problems were sincere until I saw them so active. I'm upset I tried to my best to talk to them and understand, but they seem to have no interest in making anything right. Just hiding.

Vespisia

Oh I see! Alright then. And yes...that's a very painful situation. I'm all for understanding problems that crop up, but there is a finite limit to that, and it has certainly been reached in this case, when the commission has taken so long, and they have done nothing to resolve the matter and keep you strung along instead.

Pinky

man i commed them ages ago too! and asked for a refund, they told me their computer was broken and they'd refund me once they fixed their computer...? the comm was only like $6 so the whole "i dont have the money to refund you" excuse didn't sit right with me cuz again... it's not like it was a large comm. i contacted them a couple of times and got the same excuse so i just sort of let it go since it was such a small amount but i can verify they are sketchy... they took a whole bunch of comms on an old board where they took payment up front and only finished like two of them. i'm sure most people didn't bother following up because they were really cheap sketches and it's not much lost but that doesn't make it okay ' _ '

Ansel

So, it seems that this person is "serial"

Probably told that excuse to more people than just you two.

Vespisia

Hello, I see that there is an update to the situation. Do you consider this resolved? If yes, I will merely move the link down to the resolved post so that it is still there as a sign of caution, but also a sign that resolution was achieved. Kudos to receiving your piece, I hope they finish the other work they owe as well.

PetitexCosette

Vespisia

Yes I would consider my case resolved. I do not believe they plan to finish anyone elses pieces unless they contact them however. I asked them to contac

the customers the day I got my piece, they said theyd be on a day later with all the work they had done but I do not believe they ever did

Pinky

i never heard back from her... again, not that they took a huge amount from me but i dont think they actually contacted all the people who comm'd them

PetitexCosette

wicked

I assumed so. They stated they "Finally got internet after not having it for a month" so there should be absolutely no reason they haven't contacted you.

Vespisia

PetitexCosette

Alright! I'll move it to resolved, but with the aforementioned note that people should be cautious, especially as it seems like they do not intend to complete other people's commissions...

wicked

I'm sorry to hear that...:( Be it $1 or $200+, it's not right to not complete the work one has been paid for.
