"Family" Matters

“Bismuth is a Plague, what can I say, you were bound to catch it eventually.”

Tome felt the urge to slam their dagger right into Teo’s throat repeatedly, unfortunately Teo was a litch. So, with that option out the window, all Tome could do was glare and clench their fists while Teo skipped around every question clearly lying straight to Tome’s face. 

Fantastic, it couldn't possibly get any worse.

“Besides, I’d say it helped you more than it hurt you” Tome could practically feel that stupid smirk. “You should be thanking whoever afflicted you.”

....It got worse, Tome almost felt sick.

"You afflicted me! You goddamn liar, and you know it!” Tome felt their fist clench tight and the beginnings of tears. “I’ve almost died multiple times because of that “helpful” affliction!” The words were like acid spitting out of Tome’s mouth, full of hatred and vile. “I lost my goddamn eyesight because of that “helpful” affliction! ....And What would you even know about me, you didn’t even raise me, your own child” Tome could feel angry tears running down their face, and brought their hand down to their dagger, They wished they weren’t alone with this psychopath.

“You aren’t my child”

“...What” Tome practically choked out the word, tired and frustrated. There’s no way Teo was truly that ignorant.

“You aren’t my child” Teo’s words had no malicious intent just the same numbness and cold twisted feeling they always had. “You’re an experiment, you are literally of my flesh and blood yes, I gave my cells for the experiment to build a new body.” Teo paused “ You read your case file before you lost your eyesight didn’t you? You should know this, project TEO-M; If I’m not mistaken.”

It felt hollow… and wrong. Tome wanted to punch something, scream, and be anywhere else than here. Tome lunged at Teo, teeth bared and dagger engulfed in flames, but Teo swiftly stepped to the side allowing the sightless Tome to crash into the thick metal wall.Tome didn't make the effort to get up, with their pride bruised, and a bleeding, most likely broken, nose. Instead, Tome slid down the wall onto the cold metal floor. Tome then heard the all to familiar beep of the keycard slot being activated on the door, but couldn't be bothered to move, or retaliate.

“..And if I remember correctly you weren’t successful….If you had worked… she..... would’ve been so proud of me” Teo murmured quietly, there was almost a certain pain to her words, a feeling of loss. Then, Teo slowly exited the room, the door sliding shut soon after and click of the door locking echoed off the walls, and Tome was left with their echoing sobs and the sick feeling of being completely useless and unwanted.
