Jax had decided that day to just chill and walk around the city center, maybe browse the shops and treat himself to a few new shirts since his two favourites were now too blood stained to be saved.

He cringed as he remembered just what had occurred previously in his life, biting his tongue so as to not yell in the middle of the crowd to just how much he was frustrated. He wasn't so good with emotions and feeling frustration was a new concept to him. Inhaling deep, he continued his brisk pace, passing by the front of a store with clothing in the window. It was where he always bought his clothes, well, most of them, and he debated going in, only for a voice to call out behind him.

"Jax?"

He turned around having recognized the voice, staring into the face of an older woman. She looked bewildered almost, the shock turning into sadness upon her face.

"Jax... I am... utterly surprised to see you. And very grateful."

"Ah... Jane." he said, forcing a smile. "It has indeed been a while."

"Too long, Jax. How are you doing? Where have you been? You haven't contacted me in weeks. Almost a month now. I have been emailing you and calling you but it always went to the answering machine." She said quickly, taking a step forwards. She almost wanted to reach out and touch his face. "Why haven't you been in touch?"

Jax stood there feeling awkward. The least he wanted today was to bump into his shrink. He had been avoiding her since their last phonecall where Jade had said he need not take his medication any more.

Another bite of the tongue. He had hated that day so much...

"My apologies, Jane. I have just been... so busy with work, wrapped up  in it. Ah... too busy almost."

What a lie, he thought. He hated lying and would never think of lying to her, but... too much had happened he rather keep quiet about.

"Oh, I see. Jax. It is so good to see you, but... your medication. You haven't been taking it, have you? I do keep tabs on what mediction goes out you know. You haven't been taking it."

Kill her. Kill her now. She will force you to take them. They will control you again. You will be under her control. She will make you her slave. A zombie. Just kill her now and get it over with. You know she only wants to control you. Control, Jason, she wants it.

He cringed as the voice flared up in his head and the reaction from Jane told enough that she could see his struggles as he gritted his teeth.

"It has been the last thing on my mind. Work has been so... hectic, you see."

"They're talking to you, aren't they? As we speak I can see you fighting with yourself."

Jax pursed his lips, swallowing hard and glancing off across the street. Any distraction right now would be delightful, but nothing appeared to save him.

He forced a smile, laughing a little. "I am fine, Jane. Honestly. Just thinking about some work issues. What of yourself, though? How are you doing?"

"This is not about me, Jax. This is about you. I have been worried sick. You missed all your appointments, you have been ignoring my emails, and never switch your phone on."

"Ah, yes, my phone... I had to get a new one. I shall... pass the number to you through email, mm?"

"I want your number now, Jax. I don't want you leaving our current conversation and going home, only to not email me." She said with a frown, hands on her hips. Jax sighed, pulling out his phone and showing her the number, which she tapped into her own phone. "Good. Now you cannot evade me again. Jax... Take your medication, yes? It is essential you do. We don't want any accidents do we?"

He cringed at that, running a hand through his hair. Ah, accidents. He remembered now that he told her literally everything...

"And stop taking whatever you're on. I can see you're abusing something. Your eyes are glazed and your pupils are wild."

"It is only something for the pain in my arm." He stated, almost speaking through his teeth. "A little accident, is all."

"I also see you got a neck injury... Jax. Please. Be more careful. I don't want to find out you're dead from an accident or an overdose. You are worth much more than an early grave no matter what you do or what you've done in the past. Please, take care of yourself."

"I will..." he muttered.

"Take your medication. Stop taking drugs. I will be checking up on you." Jane said, reaching out to pat his arm. She didn't comment on the fact she could feel and see the bandages through his arm, thinking better to not stress the poor man too much. "Take care, Jax."

As she left, he could feel a sense of sickness rising up inside him.

No, he would not be taking any more pills. No more control over him. No more feeling like a zombie.

He was in control. Not them.

Good. You did good, Jason. Throw all the pills away. Be free. Don't let anybody control you, especially not her. She is bad for you. Avoid her. No more pills. No more...

He turned around and away from the store as the voice blared in his head, instead heading home. Maybe tomorrow would be better.
