Prompt 2: August 18-24, 2019

Draw or write about one of your cats enjoying their favorite pastime. Are they passionate about their hobby or do they feel ashamed about it? Why?

Gilgram stretched briefly before he settled down once more. The Virtuous tunnels were quiet, as they often were, with an air of peace that made him want to read. He turned the page of his book and yawned. He was tempted to give up on this one, for all that he loved reading and learning about history; the book was too dry for him. It was a history of guilds and their influence on Catalena but all he seemed to see was dates and names without understanding their importance.

"Gil?" asked a familiar even voice.

Gilgram looked up slowly and grinned when he saw Aiden. "Yeah?" he asked, noticing how the merchant's eyes were drawn to the book.

Aiden smiled faintly. "I could have told you that one's no good," he said. "I've got a couple of books you might like; all history."

"Really?" Gilgram was very interested and couldn't recall the other making such an offer previously.

"Mhmm. And I know a bookshop down at the center that sells an essay critiquing this book."

Gilgram laughed and closed the book. "Alright," he said. "You got me, you got me. Let's go."

Author's Notes

Gil, for all his love of a social life, sometimes locks himself up in his room and not come out for hours so that he can read his nonfiction (often history) books. This was Aiden's successful attempt at getting him out to socialize.
