Hatch

Before, after. What will there be in the after, now that we have children? I’m excited, I’m shivering. My beautiful eggs, glowing, pulsing. I feel them, moving around in their womb, living, happy. Eating. Yes, eating, they’re eating the jelly we give them and it’s just so nice to see them grow little by little. They’re happy, we’re happy. Nan is ecstatic, she never knew such joy in the child that will be hers, that will be his, that will be mine. A beautiful scene, a calm duet, this is what life is and we’ll cherish it together.

We’re at the palace, Shadowy and I, with Nan being with the twins and Shadowy checking to make sure her hentais are lined up nice and neat. I don’t understand the need for such things, they’re too extreme for me. But I’m here, watching, listening, as I sit curled up with all the eggs we had borne. Beautiful, lovely eggs of pinkish hue. They’re so beautiful… I close my eyes and breathe in the wonderful, wonderful scent of royal jelly, honey, grape, cake, raspberry, lavender- wait what? My eyes snapped open as I looked down, seeing the eggs wiggle and crack. My mouth opened to let out an excited scream, but alas, nothing came out. Sometimes I hate being mute. Looking around, I see pillows all over the place on the bed, perfect! Immediately crawling towards them, I grabbed them and started pelting everyone with all the strength I could muster.

“Huh?!”

“Hey, what gives?!”

“Ah! S-Silver?” Everyone looked at me as I pointed to the eggs with an excited expression. Life exploded into the room.

“MY EGGS. THEY’RE HATCHING.”

“SILVER’S EGGS TOO, OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD.”

“Come on, let’s get closer!” They all surged forward as I darted back to the eggs, curling protectively around them. I eyed them as I let Nan get close, her trembling body full of tears within her eyes as she laid a hand on them.

“It’s really happening…” she sniffled, a joyful smile on her face, “Our eggs are…” I nodded and let her curl up beside them as well, purring happily as she showered them with her jelly. The cracks grew and they rocked more vigorously as we all waited eagerly for them to hatch. The first one to hatch? Mine and Shadowy’s, bursting from the shell with a squeak. What a joyful bubble! What a happy face! The child looked around, trying to figure out who their parents were and where it was. All eyes were on them, I can smell raspberry… The next to come out was mine and Nan’s, a timid scent of lavender filling the air. This one was not so excited, slowly coming out of the eggshell before darting over to the Queen, purring as they nuzzled her. Nan burst into tears and hugged her child. “My baby, my baby,” she whimpered as she cuddled them, “My baby…” The twins crawled over and laid a hand on her shoulder and head, causing her to sob even louder.

“It’s okay, we’re a family now- look! The other eggs are hatching!” Brotherly exclaimed. She gathered them into her arms as one by one the triplets hatched, all eager bubbles and all going over to Nan. Where was the little one that so rashly burst out of his shell? I looked around to find them not there and panic shot through me. Where? Where? I sat up quickly, feeling my head spin from the rush of adrenalin. And where was Shadowy? Looking over, I can see him- WHY IS MY CHILD NEAR THE WINDOW?! I burst forward with my wing as I turned into a bubble, zooming forth until I blocked the window. I slowly shook my body with a stern expression and they blinked, curious at my form.

“Th-Thank you…Trouble, little Trouble,” he sighed as he turned into a bubble to nuzzle the child, “No. Okay? No.” They made a put off noise but seemed happy as they floated around, unsure of what to do. Shadowy and I moved forward to nuzzle them, causing their eyes to widen as they slowly did the same to us. My heart fluttered. How wonderful life was! How joyful it can be! Please, Nan, if I can convey my words into a song for you, once more, enjoy this beautiful moment and let us celebrate together. To our new children…
