The Pride of Wikimak believes that, when a lion dies, its spirit leaves it's physical body and goes to the call of Wicasa, where that spirit will be judged. If the lion loved Wicasa and loved others in life, then that spirit will be welcomed into the realm of the stars protected by Wicasa himself. There, the spirits live in harmony with others, such as wolves, rabbits, swans, and all others. They can watch their families and friends from above, as well as help guide them on rare occasions.

However, those that did not love Wicasa or love others, and those who disregarded his commands and cursed his name will be cast into the stomach of the earth, where Kotani resides, the King of the Lakes of Fire. There, they will be forced as slaves to Kotani and will have to perform his wishes perfectly. They will be forced to bathe in the lakes of fire and rest upon the hot coals that are scattered upon the ground. Because these souls had rejected Wicasa, who had not only shaped them but had loved them and cherished them, they can live away from him. It was their choice, and it is a choice that is taken to their grave forever. 

The Pride does not worship their dead ancestors but they take a day out of the year to remember those who have passed, and thank Wicasa for the time they had with them.
