My wings are shackled to these aching flashes.
How can I breathe until this torrent passes?

A deep violet haze creeps through my bones,
Turning my blood to ice and my heart to stone.

Clawing at the part of me that doesn’t belong,
While my entire reflection is seemingly wrong.

Fists pounding blood-spattered steel and concrete,
With the balance of a man with glass in both feet.

Blood-shot eyes dampen the soil with fresh rain;
A shadow made from delusions filled with my pain.

Disintegrating into a high lavendar thunderhead,
As I take my rusted nightmares to my four-poster-bed.

I’ll slip away into this madness racing past.
Let’s see how long my tired legs can last.

Release me, my Saviour;

Free my broken bones.

Release me, my Saviour;

Return me to my home.
