Snowflakes

This was not what Calvero had in mind when he went out fishing, for one he’d actually meant to reach the waters edge, and two… no one had said anything about a slightly nightmarish dragon with way to many limbs… not all of which were attached to its body, not to mention the almost blood stain around its mouth. “As i told you before, i am not a teddy.” He tried again, but it was useless, the dragon that help didn’t seem that intelligent, instead it cuddled him close and hissed under its breath. “Miiiine.” Calvero sighed, hopefully he could figure out a way to escape the many hands that petted and held him, in some aspects it was rather cute that such a nightmarish dragon was holding him so carefully… though the why worried Calvero a bit, his star pearl moving slightly as if to entrance the other dragon…..

“Harvest.” Came an exasperated voice, and Calvero perked up, wriggling a bit in the other dragons grasp to peer at the other creature that had just entered the small cave. “Nooooo, miiiiiiine” It gurgled. “Some help would be appreciated.” Calvero asked eyeing the bestia who came closer, his cat like features settled into a ‘not again’ expression, though the cloak he wore was something Calvero thought Temperance might like, a stunning nightscape on a black/purple fabric. “Well…. Least he’s not ran off with your limbs.” Came the cats response, the fact he was completely serious doing nothing to reassure the ocean/light dragon. “He won’t eat you.” The cat said, reaching out to stroke the dragon’s snout, whose expression went lax, spaded tail thumping the ground as all limbs went limp, including the ones gripping Calvero. Not wasting his chance, Calvero wriggled free, and though it was tempting to get as much distance between him and this Harvest, that would mean he wouldn’t be able to see. Turning he squinted enough so he could see the bestia and dragon, who now that he wasn’t been petted was staring straight at Calvero, a grin on the red stained mouth. “You’ll have to find him something more interesting to occupy his attention.” The cat commented and Calvero stared at him. “I was on my fishing maybe he can help there.” He responded, once the cat nodded, he waddled back out of the cave and into the gentle snowstorm that had started; aware of the multilimbed dragon literally on his tail… and breathing down his neck.

Thankfully the sea was soon in sight and he sighed, paddling into the waters, before turning to look at Harvest. “See, just fish.” He said, diving in and catching a fish, showing it to the other dragon who gobbled it up but stared at Calvero blankly.. The bestia snorted in amusement. “He was a zombie graverobber, you know.” He added conversationally and Calvero squinted to bring the bestia more into focus, trying to determine if the cat was been serious. “Oooooo.” Harvest hissed, holding out his claws as the snow landed on them; his star pearl spinning Calvero inched closer to Harvest. “If you look closely, each snowflake has a different pattern.” Harvest peered closer to the now melted snowflake and gurgled sadly…. Until another one landed on him; grinning, he started trying to catch the snowflakes, leaping here and there and peering at them; Calvero wasn’t sure the dragon actually saw the snowflakes, but at least he was not free to fish… and maybe escape the clutches of the strange dragon, by now the multilimbed dragon was having a field day chasing the snowflakes around. “Well, i’m off.” Calvero said politely to the bestia who stood nearby watching the dragon in amusement, the cat dipped his head in acknowledgement and not wasting another moment, Calvero slipped of into the snowstorm… hoping to never encounter the multi-limbed dragon again.
