Unwelcome Guest

Gremlin grinned, peering around the mound of snow, trees and rocks and peering in the direction of the den nearby, it was mostly hidden, appearing as if it was a simple rock formation; but she’d spotted dozens of dragons coming and going… as well as the bestia, who was sometimes just a cat… and she was curious, could he change into other forms… could he fly? Well she was going to find out. She’d waited until the one dragon whom she thought was strong enough to stop her had gone, an albino wyrm that practically oozed earth magic, and an earth dragon with that much magic was bound to be significantly stronger than Gremlin, even with the size difference.

Abyss froze in her wanderings, heads weaving as they sensed something off; it wasn’t the first time they’d sensed it, and each time it had been nearby, just waiting, with a faint sense of maliciousness. Sorcha had recently left the cenote, and the feeling had intensified; lowering their heads to the ground they started creeping back to the cenote and whatever was causing the maliciousness.

Gremlin inched ever closer, eyes locked on the small navy cat that had appeared, along with several familiars, no other dragons in sight. Grinning she pounced, ignoring the smaller creatures and grabbing the cat, before rearing up to her full height. “Can you fly?” She hissed, letting the cat go, it didn’t scream, or hiss, just dropped and she was positive she saw streaks of silver cross its body…. Just as she caught it again, barely feeling the pinprick of claws. “And again.” She dropped him, grinning, she ignored the sounds from the cenote, there was nothing any of them could do to stop her she was after all the largest. She yelped as something bit her tail, and she missed the cat shift form, wings flaring as gryphon landed safely on the ground; turning she bared her teeth, who dared strike at her.. She paused for a single moment as the other dragons size registered, easily the same category as her… but this dragon had two heads; howling and anger she lunged for the head that had bitten her tail.

Abyss had been creeping around when she heard Meiron’s shout, and no longer been stealthy, she’d reared up, spotting the collosal wyrm picking Meiron up then dropping him, her long body pale green and covered in white. Not hesitating Bess struck, teeth clamping on the tail of the unwelcome guest; Abby snapped her own jaw as the head lunged,, raising up her tail and slamming of on the ground where the wyrm had been mere seconds ago, the sound echoing.

Gremlin pulled her attack, barely dodging the tail as she slipped to one side, before charging at the dark dragon, her claws bounced of the shell and the body… just melted around her attack.; snarling in frustration she lashed at small wing that was folded, finally scoring a hit, just as a burst of fire erupted over her. It didn’t so much as hurt as infuriate, and she lunged again slamming her whole body into that of the snails.

Hissing as the other dragons weight slammed into them, as well as the throbbing wing, Bess reached for the shadows around them, both hers and Abby’s, as well as the intruders, creating spears of darkness that struck the other dragon, Abby continued to fire small bursts of fire unlodging their attacker; and Meiron now in gryphon form having made sure the familiars were alright, raked his talons over the others head; Abyss reared up, their mass increasing as they made themselves bigger through the darkness around, both heads snarling in warning.

Gremlin snarled back, but watched as the dragon seemed to increase in size further, the gryphon raked his claws over her head again and she snapped; but as the shadows pulsed at the dark dragons command; Gremlin retreated, spitting at them and promising retribution.

Once the other colossal dragon was out of sight, Abyss returned to their normal size, hissing as Meiron ran a talon over her scratched wing. “Talk about an unwelcome guest.” Abyss commented, both voices in harmony, as the other dragons appeared to make sure Abyss and Meiron were both alright.
