Dragons must undergo thorough courtship traditions before others will be interested in breeding with them. The Grand Display pushes their skills to the limit, ensuring only the finest of Dragons will go on to breed. Each element has their own traditions to impress others of their kind, though this same practice can dissuade their opposing element from breeding. Regardless of this, achieving their own element’s Grand Display is a dream of every growing dragon, and they are eager to enter into the ceremony as soon as permitted.

Strength Trial

The city loomed on the horizon, the skyline grey but for the shimmering sunlight that reflected from the dozens of 'mirrors' covering it... a city of metal.. Argus eyed it warily... surely there wasn't suffiecient room to challenge the winged dragon he could see circling the city.... a slight movement had him halting, the small dragon fluttering around him having spotted something... they'd been like this since 'meeting' for the small dragon (who was metal despite his appearance) was also looking to prove his strength... though it kept exploring things on their route. "At this rate they will of left and we'll have to find to more with time to spare." He said, his tone harsh, though he didn't increase his speed.

Aki flinched, turning his attention from the rather large rodents he'd spotted, he knew the other male wouldn't hurt him, having gleaned that much in the time they'd traveled together; still he wasn't used to be spoken to as such. "Sorry." He angled his wings to fly alongside Argus, as the city grew larger. The immense white dragon dipped his wings, signaling he'd seen them; Aki hummed, glad that one was not his companion for this trial. "He'll be a good challenge." Argus hissed, flaring his wings are roaring a challenge to the male above... his sire.

Aki fluttered off as Argus took off, his own wingspan impressive, the long red, white and black wyrm-like body undulating; he wasn't quite as smooth in flight as the other male... and he charged straight for Byakko, the older dragon folding his wings and freefalling, avoiding the dragons reckless attack. It took him a few moments to spot his own companion, a dragon as small as he was, curled up on a rock, enjoying the sun. He fluttered, landing next to Noodle.... like most of Isa's dragons, fighting was not something any of them were used to... "Ummm." He said timidly.

Noodle opened one eye, though he preferred to sleep, he didn't mind the challenges of strength that occaisionly came his way; sensing the timidness, he uncurled in a swift movement, snapping at the pale wyrm, who yelped, taking to the air,.Aki took off, but got no where before something gripped his tail, tumbling him to the veined rocks below, hissing, he opened his jaw, the upper one metal and deadly sharp to snap at the Noodle, who let go of his tail and tackled him; rolling the two seperated, Aki using his wings to help balance his body on the ground, the metal ore thrumming beneath them, they lunged ... and above the air thundered with a clash of colliding dragons.

When Byakko dropped, It took every ounce of Argus's control not the fly straight into the reflective building, snarling he spotted the wyvern drifiting through the skyline, his large wings spread wide as he soared; bellowing Argus followed, and then just when he thought he had the older male he realised it was a reflection.... the metal rippled as Argus flew through it, appearing on the other side, just as a shadow descended, Byakko's talon stretched wide, growling , Argus lashed with his tail, hitting the male and sending him falling, though he recovered swiftly, and once again the chase was on. Again and again, Byakko forced Argusto think before lunging, the metal terrain providing obstables for him.

Far below, Noodle and Aki lay panting on the ground... forget about aerial acrobatics, they'd spend the majority of time tussling, and both were tired, but Aki had shown he could hold his own...now though they were just watching the two large males above continue to spar... occasionally snacking on a rodent here or there as they waited for Argus and Byakko to complete the trial.
