MerMay Prompt 2020

It was a nice sunny and peaceful day on the Viridian Island, well not quite peaceful and Phoenix and Oceanic were running around pranking any beanling or flowerling they came across. Though while they were doing that Phoenix heard them talking about an event, “hey did you hear?” “hear what?” “the islands are holding an event for mermay!” he heard two flowerings talk about something called mermay before Oceanic decided to prank them next “mermay?” Phoenix thought, Oceanic noticed Phoenix was lost in thought but only because he had stopped pranking, “Phoenix, Phoenixxxxxx” “hm yea Oceanic?” “what yah thinking about?” “I heard those two flowerlings talking about an event around mermay, do you know what that is?” “not really but I know there is always a lot of food so it’s the best!” Phoenix sweat dropped at Oceanics comment “maybe I should open a bake sale on the event” Phoenix whispered to himself so Oceanic wouldn’t hear him “you say something?” “nope but let’s go back to my place now, I think we did enough pranks for now alright?” “aw your no fun, will I at least get food?” “yea you will don’t worry lets just hurry up and go” so Phoenix and Oceanic headed back to Phoenix’s house, as soon as Phoenix opened the door Oceanic took off into the kitchen to raid Phoenix’s food *sigh* “I’m going to have to get more food today aren’t I” he then walked off into another food to come up with some ideas for what he wanted to make for his bake sale “cake, no, some sort of ice-cream, no that would take too long, oh I know cookies!” he then grabbed some paper and started planning out some designs until he came up with one he liked, about an hour later he finally did it “finally a nice design, but now I got to go buy stuff to make them though I should make sure Oceanic is either eating or sleeping otherwise they are going to follow” he went around his house until he found Oceanic who seemed to have fallen asleep in the middle of eating “perfect now I just got to be quick” Phoenix took off out of his house and to the store as fast as he could “finally made it to the store, jeez I should try moving closer or something” he causally walked into the store and started trying to find stuff he needed to make cookies while also saying hello to a few Beanlings and flowering he knew “lets see, flour, yep, butter?, yep, eggs?, yep, vanilla extract, yep, sugar, yep, I think I got everything though I need to do my normal shopping as well now thanks to Oceanic eating everything *sigh*” he continued to walk around the store for the next half an hour to get everything then leave “finally I thought id never get to leave well time to start heading home and hope Oceanic is still sleeping” Phoenix took off as fast as he could back home, once he got home he quietly opened the door and went to the room he last saw Oceanic in and thankfully they were still asleep so Phoenix went to the kitchen and started putting away what he didn’t need and got to work making the cookies “let’s hope I finish these before they wake up” about 1 and a half hours later the first batch of cookies were done “these look so good, I’m so proud” he said as he put the cookies aside to cool while he got ready to put the second lot in then waited for about 20 minutes before decorating the cookies he had made before “omg these are so cute, I hope everyone likes them” he said as he proudly put down the first one he had made and continued to do the rest” after a good few hours he only had one batch left to bake but little did he know Oceanic and could smell the cookies “ooo I spell cookies” they quickly got up but once they made it to the kitchen they saw Phoenix still making some so quietly went into the kitchen and over to the finished ones and started to eat them “hey Phoenix these taste really good” Phoenix quickly turned to where the finished cookies were and saw Oceanic had eaten half of them “Oceanic!!” Phoenix yelled “hm yea” Oceanic said as they grabbed another cookie “those weren’t for you they were for the mermay event!!!” Phoenix quickly grabbed what cookies were left and moved them away from Oceanic and grabbed some other food and handed it to Oceanic and got them to leave “great well at least I brought extra in case something like this happened...” Phoenix then spent most of the night baking cookies for the event just so he would have a lot of cookies, then he took a quick nap after locking the cookies away in a place Oceanic couldn’t get to, once he woke up he grabbed the cookies and headed off to the event area and picked a place they had set up to set up his cookie sale and little to no surprise Oceanic showed up and stole some though Phoenix gave up caring since he put some out just for Oceanic to take which everyone who was there knew and laughed at Phoenix’s and Oceanic’s weird friendship, the rest of the day was amazing seeing everyone dress up or just sell some baked good, then came the end of the event where everyone went home and Oceanic carried a bag of stolen food back to Phoenix’s house to share, though they ate all of them but one which Phoenix was fine with as now he just wanted to watch a movie with some snacks that Oceanic will most likely eat then go to bed, so he went to the lounge room with some blankets and set up a movie and grabbed some snacks and watched some mermay themed movies then went to sleep, while Oceanic raided his kitchen again.
