You're Failing, Time To Marry You Off

Finally they came to the door of where they were called to, Adam was having a small chuckle with himself as he recalled the moments before that would remain in his mind for time to come. Rayden thought nothing of it, just kneeling down to poke at his shorts while some skipping students watched on. He wasn’t bothered by it at all, but those confused faces at Rayden poked, and his pants poked back, were just priceless as they scurried away.

But alas, all fun things ended and here they were, before the door that was closed. Not even bothering to knock, he opened the door and went straight in, waving at the secretary who gave him a sweet ‘Hello Adam.’ before he moved to the next door. It was more breezing being around in shorts, and he wasn’t sure if he liked that.

“Ah, welcome in Mr. Prywit and Mr. Riker. Hopefully I didn't interrupt anything important for the two of you.”

“Not at all Miss Montague, just gym and all. What did I do now, I haven’t had the chance to do anything yet today.”

“So guilty, have a seat.” Motioning to the pair of chairs, Adam huffed but had a seat. Letting his dragon scurry out to wrap around his hand as he waited for Rayden to join as well.

Stepping on in after Adam, Rayden had to admit he was just thinking the same thing. Giving a small wave to the secretary, he didn't pay them too much mind as he hurried on. They were nice enough and tended to let him steal multiple sweets from the jar when he came in here for his siblings. "What do you mean? Gym is the most important one, it's even the start of the day." Huffing, the dark dragon slowly creeped out of his shadow to wiggle worm its way up into his lap when he sat down as well. It looked like a cute black ball of soot with its arms pulled inside.

Purring away quietly, it rumbled when Rayden absentmindedly stroked it with a finger. Without any eyes, the only thing that Adam might be able to see if he glanced over, he'd see some little white teeth staring in his direction.

“Now boys, settle down. Did you both just wake up on the wrong side of the bed today?” Gently teasing the pair, she at least caught on easily that they were impatient today and pulled out the papers and folders that interested Adam. He didn’t often get served a pile of papers, and when he was there was always something interesting going on.

“What is that?”

“Pacient, young one.” But soon enough, all the papers were out as she stared at the pair of very different dragons. “So, we have recently set up a program where it pairs up the talented and average children in the same grade and classes. You two have been selected to be bonded together, as Adam excels in all his classes and Rayden appears to be trying but having trouble grasping the material.” Letting that sink in before she continued, Adam was quiet and nodding, interested so far in this bonding suggestion. “ I’ve already spoken with your parents, and they’ve agreed it seems to be a lovely idea. It is of course your choice, but it has shown to improve grades by having a partner there mentally and physically in the bond.”

Rolling his eyes at the jest, Rayden wished he had a right side of the bed he could pick to roll off on. Actually, he had been having a great day until they called him out of gym instead of literally any other of his classes! Sure, he had some trouble staying awake in them considering he had to stay up late to finish at least half of his homework after putting the kids to bed, they could cut him some slack.

This sort of sounded just like the sort of slack he wanted though? He didn't have the time for, nor could afford a tutor, but if they had a way to wring Adam into giving him a hand... Part of him was wondering what some overly flirtatious pretty boy was doing as an honor student, but then again, he apparently had way too much time on his hands anyway. Leaning back in that carefree way, he shrugged, the little dragon in his lap lifting its head up to look around for the hand that had stopped petting it. Rolling over, the white teeth tilted sideways as it laid against Rayden's stomach, going back to its happy purring life with the rider that was accepting it so easily. Much like a stray cat that had gotten attached to him.

Basically thinking the same thing as the dragon, Rayden wasn't used to stray dragons, but at least this one was soft and more quiet than the screeing meows that hung around their apartment. "Yeah sure, not like it hurts me any. What's he gonna do? Try and copy my homework?" Fat chance of that.

“You wish, you get more than half the answers wrong anyways.” Scoffing at the male, he was playing with his own dragon who was running back and forth across his lap and up his chest, chasing his fingers like a small kitten.

“Adam, that’s very mean.” Rolling his yes he was not surprised, of all people to scold him, it was the counselor to do so. So often she’d tell him he was making bad decisions. Not that he listened to her at all.

“But right, I also don't mind though. It may be fun teaching dear soft Ramen how to manage his time or help him do so.” That more devious grin had the adult feeling a slight concern, but with the disinterest the other had towards Adam, she wasn’t left worrying for wring and figured they were a perfect match.

“Well, with that. Are these you’re only dragons currently owned?”

“Rai is the only dragon I have currently, why?”

“Well, you have to get approval from the dragons too.”

"Hey, only my little siblings are allowed to call me that." Rayden squinted, pointing a rude accusing finger at the flaming redhead. "Like hell I'm soft either ya sassy motherfucker." Getting a quick scolding for language from the teacher, he simply huffed and crossed his arms. A small coo came from his lap and he looked down at the dark dragon turning its hand tail eye to blink up at him.

Leaning back over to slouch his chair, he poked a finger into The Darkness and it went back to those nice purrs again while the teacher went on. "This isn't really my dragon, it's just a wild one following me around. It's not even my element." lifting its head up slightly, three pairs of arms slowly unveiled themselves from the darkness of its body. Crawling over to the teacher's desk, it pulled itself up and opened that mouth, the sound coming out somewhere between a ghostly moan and a shriek. Making Rayden jump slightly, he hadn't expected the purring noodle grow arms, much less make that sort of noise.
