  • Sardari was born in the East India Company Territory of Bengal about 1770.
  • Vaishya caste.
  • Looks late 20s maybe, save for long white hair
  • If she had been born in a slightly different place and time, she would have been identified as a Dijinn. As it was, she was labeled as a reincarnation of a local minor Hindu deity.
  • Sardari has some conscious control over local spacetime. Examples of this control include;
    • Opening doors by temporarily shrinking their locking mechanisms to the point of ineffectiveness,
    • Temporarily opening entrances through walls where there was none,
    • Collapsing buildings by shrinking load-bearing parts of the structure
    • Hiding acquired items in folded pockets of spacetime so they are inaccessible by normal means (also inescapable), attached to other items in real space so she can get them out herself
      • mobile (clothing, small items) or immobile (walls, statues)
      • because she CAN lose track of them
    • Hiding herself in a folded pocket of spacetime
    • Acceleration or Deceleration of the passage of time in these pockets
      • Which has been used for torture, but not recently
      • Because a week of isolation in the dark makes people say what they think you want to hear, true or not
      • these days she only uses it on herself to get in a quick nap with nobody noticing
      • She can't actually decide how old she is because of this - has she spent years sleeping like that?
    • Has used this control to "capture evil a jar"
      • who she usually slows down time for
      • and usually releases after the requesting party has lost interest
      • A few minutes under a very bright light vs a few years in a jail
      • And if they're sentient and agreeable she sets them up with some guidance in a new location
    • Being able to walk through a location unseen
      • It is walking. She can not teleport herself or other things.
      • She also can't create things - but she sure can take steal them and store them if needed.
    • "Manifesting" money, while being visible or invisible
  • Originally met Mina in a formal ceremony while they were both traveling as itinerant gods
    • and they literally had a drinking party mid-ceremony while everything was frozen around them, slept it off, then returned to the formal stuff
  • Decades later was asked to apprehend Mina when she was trying to retrieve one of her old alms caches
    • Once the situation was understood - after a game of cat and mouse - Sardari did have to make a show of capturing the flesh monster
    • But Mina also was released as soon as possible and got her cache of silver.
  • She eventually settled down in a temple a bit south of her birthplace, which eventually became Indian Enclave in Bangladesh
  • Her personal room is ornate but empty, because all her personal possessions are hidden around it.
  • Eventually she came to be a god to gate guards - both of personal residences and border crossings.
    • And there were a LOT of Indian and Bangledeshi Enclaves until very recently
    • which means lots of border to guard
    • She had little part in creating this situation, but boy was it good for business
  • She acted as something of a union boss - guards pay her alms, she protected their right to take bribes, as well as dictating what amount of bribe was 'fair' for any given situation.
  • Occasionally this was handled by visiting her temple, paying her the big sum, and she would pay the guards invisibly.
    • they freaking know not to ask for more if they hear the clink of coins
  • A one point, during a horribly bad monsoon season, her temple was washed away. With no point of refrence, many of her posessions - the ones not on her person - were lost to her as well.
    • They still theoretically exist, but
    • She could be reaching just a meter too low, and nope, nothing.
    • Although she could have called other favors, she figured Mina would be the most descrete
    • A god that manages bribes... it's better to keep things as unofficial as possible
    • Mina realized pretty quickly that Sardari could stay hiddin in the wall a good long time if she didn't get the money
    • And so the temple was built off Mina's old gold.
    • Repayment was expected to take decades - neither of them really worried that they would die first, given their experiences.
