Rotating Duty #6

The Tsotska live in harmony with dragons—including non-elemental dragons! These wild dragons take on all shapes and sizes and can be found throughout nature. From the huge dragon residing in the volcano to the smallest dragons that guard flower patches, each one has a price for its peace. Show your character offering a tribute to one of these wild dragons. This duty takes place on Tsotska d’la Mer.

"I still don't get why Havoc complains about this." Ruin commented, his powerful wings soaring over the ocean as he headed for the Tsotska d'la Mar; the volcano tip just about visible in the swirling snow. "Havoc is Havoc." Was the response from his back, the shift's grip tightening as Ruin dove, flaring his wings to skim over the surging waters. He huffed in amusement at the response, but didn't reply, there really wasn't anything he could reply about. The sky shattered mere moments later, the snow still surging despite the thunderstorm which tore through the skies above the island. Meiron tightened his grip on the dragon, ears pinned back as Ruin flew faster, while the dragon liked the chaotic terrain, as all of Meiron's dragons knew the cat was weak to lighting. "There." Ruin commented, spotting the large dark shape of a dragon who was joining them, the 5 heads watching their approach, beyond them, Ruin could just about make out the ruins of something; where, according to the information given to Meiron, was where the dragon they sought dwelled.

It wasn't often The Company accompanied riders other than their own, but this was a bit different, they wished to gather some plants and herbs for Teeba, and in turn Salvus, many of which grew only in a part of the Tsotska d'la Mar, under the watchful eye of a guardian, a non-elemental dragon that carefully nurtured them. As such a tribute would be needed to even allow them to look around, and, Salvus and its people were still recovering in the aftermath of the battle, so, they'd turned their attention elsewhere, to another rider 'employed' by the Coalition. The lightning flickered across the sky, illuminating the dragon as he back winged to a landing, the navy bestia on his back unusually tense, flinching at the lightning. "Greetings." Metal said, sensing the eye roll from Storm, even as Ocean peered at the rider, some worry in her gaze as the cat dismounted. "We are The Company, thank you for agreeing to this." The dragon shook himself, settling on his limbs, the wings tucked tight. Dark ignored them, nibbling at a bush she'd found mere moments before.

"Sorry we're a bit late." Ruin said, peering up at the 5 heads, dipping his head at the central head; Meiron glanced at the sky warily as the lighting flickered across it, the snow falling steadily still, he'd be much more comfortable inside. "He's Ruin, I'm Meiron." the second head snorted. "You are a ruin with that flight pattern." Ruin bared his teeth under the mask, not bothered by her words, he'd been trading barbed words with his sire since he hatched. "My flight pattern was perfect, why would I want to fly straight? It's far more fun to play." He responded, remaining still as Meiron took unhooked the bag. Meiron ignored the banter, turning to look at the central head, she felt like the 'leader' much as Bess was for her and Abby. "Shall we?"

Storm grinned at the response, so he was storm was he? Wind trilled slightly as they followed the cat... who was not a cat, they could all see that; Ruin paced alongside them, seemingly quite comfortable on all 'fours', the powerful wing fingers supporting his weight. Soon though all their attention turned to the ruin before them, its walls crumbling, but faint trails of power seemed to flicker from beyond, The Company pulling on their dark magic to shift size slightly to better walk through the hallways, which were now easily noticeable as constructs, rivulets of power still surging through them, and yet, it felt natural. All 5 heads took note of the flora which covered the walls, yet, until a tribute had been made, they wouldn't touch any.

Once inside, Meiron relaxed, though he could still feel some electricity from the area, where it was contained. The tunnel opened up into a vast area; flora of all types covering the space; clear water funnelling through the greenery, minimizing how much work its guardian would need to do. Ruin spotted the small creature first, all but immobile on a limb of a small tree; its large eyes staring at them. Both were aware of The Company halting at the entrance, waiting patiently. Carefully, the cat removed several sets of seeds from his bag, holding them out for the small one, after a few moments, the creature moved, limbs moved to show a patch of earth with nothing planted before it carefully hopped onto the cat's outstretched arm. "My ally requests the right to take some of your plants if that is acceptable?" He asked, carefully formal with his wording.. he could be civil and polite... if he concentrated. The dragon peered at the Company, and then at the seeds, nodding, its small limbs moving as it accepted the tribute. Reaching the empty patch of earth, the non-elemental dragon started beckoning to both Meiron and Ruin, getting them to help with the planting of the new seedlings.

Metal, Ocean and Wind all breathed a sigh of relief, Storm and Dark though, not that they'd been given the all-clear started nosing around the flora closest to them; but as eager as they were, they were careful not to damage anything, the care the guardian showed for its wards showing in the health of the plants; they used their long body to carefully gather what they needed, not too much from anything, just a leaf, or a flower and berry here and there. One plant seemed to catch all their attention, it was too clustered together to pick only a fraction of it. "May we take this plant?" Metal asked peering over at Meiron, Ruin and the small guardian, the other 4 heads followed suit.

The guardian cocked its head, peering at the plant thoughtfully, before scurrying over, its form vanishing for a moment, before it reappeared, a large clump of the plant falling away from the parent plant. All 5 heads dipped in thanks as it returned to Meiron, to oversee the final bits of the planting of its new seeds; The Company returned to the entrance, the plants carefully held in their arms, as they waited for Meiron and Ruin to complete their jobs. It had certainly gone better than any of them had expected.
