Every now and then, for reasons that cannot be explained, dragons are born the wrong sex. Many accept this as a fact of life, but others will seek out change. However, change takes effort. There isn’t an item that will magically change the sexy bits of a dragon. No, your dragon will have to seek out a different sort of magic.

Rite 2

Ruin all but purred as they angled their wings, long sweeping glides over the sea, the snow having ceased the instant they caused chaos for the ship; already he could feel the energy stirring again, not quite as intense, but there. "Home?" They asked their rider, Meiron gripping the fur. "Yes, we need to collect Ruhan." Ruin's ears twitched, wondering why they needed to collect the small red wyrm... who was adamant he did not have wings.... Ah... like Ruin, Ruhan had been born female... and was adamant they were a he. The normally docile wyrm had been in a huff for days, and even his green twin hadn't been able to rouse him. Spotting the cenote, Ruin back winged to land, the air billowing as Meiron dismounted with a swiftness not often seen by others. Ruin shuddered, the energy rising again... they hoped Meiron wouldn't be too long.

Ruhan hissed at Ruhi, 'his' body far too warm, which for a fire dragon, said something was wrong; they caught their sisters hurt look as she slunk away, they were twins.... even if they were pure fire, and had wings, which flared when they were picked up, only the familiar touch of his bond with Meiron halted them from biting down. "I'm not sure who is worse, you or Ruin." The feline commented, Ruhan resettled his wings still hissing as the cat left the cenote, their gaze on the much larger storm hybrid, who seemed as uncomfortable as Ruhan was, the red wyrm hissing in greeting. Like their twin, they didn't talk much.

Ruin waited only until Meiron, and Ruhan were secure on their back before taking off, the energy uncomfortable once again, more so than before. "To the desert." Meiron called out, Ruin didn't hesitate, their large wings covering the distance within moments; aware of some part of Ruhan giving off an unusual amount of heat... even for a fire dragon. The yellow sands of the desert soon caught the eye as far as they could see, the sun blazing down from above, Ruin spotted a mesa and angled their wings, the energy becoming almost unbearable, Meiron barely time to dismount before Ruin was back in the air. "Let it all out." the feline shouted up at them. Ruin shook itself, it burned, the energy, chaotic as he tore through the desert sky, the sunny lands shifting as the storm magic began to run wild, shards of ice forming around him as the wind struck at him, a challenge, as above the storm grew, something far older passing, summoned by the chaotic energy that ran unchecked through his body.

Meiron flinched as the storm awoke, lightning shattering the sky as the hybrid glowed; but his focus was torn, as Ruhan freed itself from the shifts grip; the cat could do nothing but wait for the magic to pass.

Ruhan was barely aware of the sun vanishing, the heat from the desert seeping into their already overheated form, more than enough to drive it insane, they writhed on the sands, a haze forming above them as the heat spread more and more, below the sand shifted to glass as he twisted and turned; the air warmed more and more, until finally, the fire surged, the inferno swallowing him; it flicked at him as the storm raged above, an ancient presence brushing past him as the magic burned what he was, to become who he should have been. Finally, the fire sputtered, the magic complete, Ruhan panted, his wings drooping as wild energy left him; he managed a purr for Meiron as the cat picked him up, his attention turning above as the storm finally disappeared above them. Ruin's wings flared as he landed, his own chest heaving from the exertion of the change.

Meiron said nothing, simply waiting for the two males to catch their breaths; finally they were who they were meant to be.
