Ruin unlocks his storm magic, meanwhile, Meiron does some gathering around the oasis

"How hard can it be?" Ruin muttered, the vast desert spread out below him as he soared over it, wings spread as wide as possible to catch the numerous air currents that rose as the sun warmed the sands and stone below; Meiron snorted on his back, while above him the falcon soared with ease. "Talking to yourself already?" The cat asked, fingers tight in the thick fur that covered the male's neck and shoulders, Ruin's ears twitched, the 'earrings' jingling a bit at the movement. "Technically I was talking to you." Ruin responded, as sweet as he could be, earning a chuckle from the rider. "Magic." Ruin followed up, spotting the glint of blue in the distance, the oasis their target for the day. "The other day doesn't count, I had no control over that, and if Havoc can use it so can I." Ruin boasted, his rivalry with his sire having settled since he completed his rites... which meant the spats were more... civil than that had been... and they always took it outside... of course, Ruin had yet to win one of them."Sure. Came the amused response, Ruin huffed, shifting course, the extensions on his wings his main form of control in the air, for he had no tail at all to help him steer, back winging to land near the pristine waters, his fore talons resting on the warm sands as Meiron dismounted. The falcon soon was out of sight, hunting further afield for its prey.

"Do what you want, just no lightning." Meiron said eyes narrowed on the trees and flora around him. "I mean Havoc has never lost control that way before, and you don't want to lose to him in this." The shift continued, earning a glare from the storm hybrid, who amidst the sand and sun, looked a bit out of place, but like his sire, Ruin was Earth as well, he just showed less of it. Meiron narrowed his eyes on the plants and trees thriving in the oasis; he'd promised Night he'd bring one or two new ones for her to plant in the garden. He also wasn't against using Ruin's rivalry with his sire to make sure no stray bits of electricity came his way. His ears twitched at the low muttering coming from the young male behind him, and yes, the glares... Ruin was more like his sire than either dragon would admit.

Ruin continued to glare at his rider as the bestia moved around the greenery, picking up the odd plant or fruit, and running his hands over the bark of the trees, oh he knew what his rider was up to, but it also worked, and... he knew Meiron was weak to lightning, even the Thunder dragons that were bonded to him were exceptionally careful. Fine... he'd used ice and wind successfully before, a grin forming at the chaos he'd caused around the ship... now to manipulate it without all the extra energy he had had then. He narrowed his eyes on the waters, willing it to freeze... but nothing happened. Growling he bared his teeth at it, stupid waters, this should be easy...

Meiron's ears twitched and he turned to look at Ruin, whose entire focus was on the waters.... around them the formally clear skies had darkened, and the wind began to rise, no longer warm from the sun, instead of cold, with a hint of ice...

The dragon continued to stare, he could feel the magic, it was rising, surging around him, but the waters remained untouched by it. "Lookout." A voice sounded, strangely muffled, instant had him rolling and avoiding a large boulder which crashed near him, the and the magic ran wild, the sandstorm flaring into full force, He stared as the once warm air froze, ice shattering around the area... and started laughing, around him the sandstorm flowed, now he could feel it, the raw chaos of it as it shattered the calm oasis. He felt Meiron lean against him; almost playfully he pulled on the magic; and it responded the sandstorm easing.

"Well... at least you didn't use lightning... though the waters still haven't frozen." Meiron commented, a bag full of things by his feet, of course, gathering anything else except debris was out of the question, the yellow sands broken by large ice shards, trees shattered here and there.... and yet ... the oasis waters remained untouched. Woops?" Ruin apologised, though he was grinning beneath his snout.
