Koi had a sort of aversion to affection, specifically physical affection. Some could attribute it to her many upbringings (overbearing family who were emotionally distant at best, being abandoned in a dimension with no other person). Others could attribute it to her trauma. Whatever it was, it affected her deeply.
No one really initiated things like hugs. That was up to her. She called the shots in those things, like how tight, how long, the type, etc. Being forced to give hugs to people she didn’t like, nor wanted to hug while being forced to was rough. As if no one were able to understand the fact she had boundaries and she had to break them every time just to appease someone who didn’t care for her.
But when she did feel physically affectionate, it was considered a win. That meant she genuinely trusted you.
And no one wanted it any other way
