"You've been at it for weeks without any progress. Maybe you should accept the fact that he's gone."

That's the last thing she's heard from any of her friends. The corruption incident took a toll on everyone, her especially. She not only learned she could fuse, she watched everyone around her be corrupted and almost got killed, and while after Lemon Demon was killed, everyone lost their corruption, there was a side effect to it. See, he had a goal for everyone to be corrupted to bring chaos and despair, god she hated that word for how much trouble it brought her. That included the self aware video game protagonist. She desperately fought them off to buy him some sort of time to back up but it was far too late, and whatever she did save on that flash drive in her pocket was ruined in the ensuing Lemon fight. Society was rebuilding.

And she had to rebuild herself.

He was the closest she had to Sam in this world, and being unable to do anything to save him after he risked his own life to throw her out of the game before spirit took over and what little she had to build off of was gone. Only memories of a simpler time, where none of this happened. She couldn't even reset the timeline, she didn't have saves that went far back enough to save him and hunt Lemon down to prevent it.

"You need to stop whatever this is. It won't bring him back, you have to take care of yourself."  The words echoed out in her mind. She wanted to stop but every time she slept she saw nothing but nightmares of corruption and everyone dying, so most of her blood at this point was soda. She didn't even have an item to remind her of him of his smell because, he was only a video game. Granted within a video game universe but still, it stung like a bitch.

Koi had taken a couple of robotics classes so building a body wouldn't be that hard. It was the coding that was the hard part. There was nothing like him. No matter what she did, it was always bound within reason. Even sending it to those more knowledgeable couldn't help as Miu would shame her coping mechanisms as some weird kink (she wasn't she was grieving pretty damn hard), Kiibo would think it's weird, Mei was too focused on her own work and she couldn't speak with Chihiro. It reminded her too much of the dating sim. She cross referenced everything this damn dating sim had, the game, the manga, that one ova, everything but he was too perfect. No self aware jabs, no snark, nothing, just a pretty anime boy and nothing else. It wasn't her Sen. Even if she could get it right, nothing sounded like him either. Koi was hoping she could at least get him to sound correctly so she could throw some phrases into a voice box and get a plush to fill the space somehow and get some kind of sleep. The voices sounded too up the ass, too high ranking for his own good. More like Lorenz and Ferdinand than her self aware ai. She'd have to cry into their shoulders later, this was too much for her to handle.

It didn't help that everyone had basically stopped speaking to her at that point. This is when she needed them most. That she was too in over her head and that she was going to be disappointed anyways.

She already was disappointed but they didn't need to twist the lemon juice soaked knife into the corruption filled wound where her heart should be.  It was just like back when she was in that dimension, alone, no friends aside from stuffed animals to talk to. Except now, she had human(oid) companions, she had a support system.

It just failed her when she needed them because her tiny heart couldn't take abandonment anymore. Especially one as tragically as this.
