Karma takes place in a fictional city called Milenios, which is located in Northern California. Think somewhere around the San Jose/San Fransisco area. Milenios is a medium-sized city, with the expected weather of the area it's located in. Warm summers; cold, slightly humid winters. It's often overcast, especially during winter. Milenios is located within a valley, with the southwest side being surrounded by trees, and all of the city being surrounded by large, green hills. The skies are colorful with vivid sunsets and sunrises; if not cloudy, the stars are also easy to see at night.

Though rare, gifted populations in Milenios are still much higher than in any city in the country.
