Hux learns that Tal and Avarice are an annoying duo

Entry 3

Taliesin was plain and simply bored out of his goddamn mind, he knew he had to stick around and wait for The Devil to be freed, sure, as one of the most obvious loyal Aphex to the god himself Tal was needed to be present when the god emerged from the depths. All this waiting around though wasn’t his style, not since his ex-wife took off with his kids and now he’ll never see them again, life was too short for waiting and it bored him shitless. Sure he had his reservations about The Devil being released and he sure as Allure wanted to be there for his god when he was finally free but all this war stuff was too tactical and not impulsive enough for him, he was an Aphex of action which was probably why he’d joined Ravens side, they were similar in that sense, he wondered if the army’s leader was also bored out of his mind.

Sitting in his tent he grumbled rather dramatically, rubbing his face and pulling his eyelids down with a huff before slapping himself a few times in the face to perk up. “Don’t sleep don’t sleep don’t sleep”

“If you keep doing that your face will get stuck that way” Omen hummed from beside him, his familiar having taken on the form of a finx again that perched to his side.

“What am I 12?” Tal glared at the familiar which only seemed to shrug.

“I mean you act like a child I might as well treat you like one, you’re bored so instead of doing something you’re sulking”

“I am not sulking I’m-“ Tal started before he was interrupted.

“Oh you finally going mad then?” A familiar voice snickered as a Dephx made their way into the tent with a shit eating grin on their face, they were large, a deep purple with lighter glowing purple markings and wings where ears would be.

“Oh shut it Avarice” Tal grumbled but couldn’t help but keep a small smirk off his face. Unlike a lot of Aphex he knew Tal didn’t hate Dephx, didn’t really see all that much of a point, if someone did something you didn’t like then sure but he liked to think of himself as a pretty accepting individual, plus Avarice was brilliantly chaotic.

“It’s nice to see you again Avarice” Omen drifted closer to the Dephx and perched on his head, just between the wings they had there, of course the Dephx couldn’t see Omen or even feel her but he seemed to acknowledge that’s where she was by looking up slightly and chuckling.

“You too floaty!” The Dephx chuckled as they came to sit alongside Taliesin, all but a bit oddly due to their gangly body. “What’s eating you?”

“Nothing just-“

“Hes sulking because he’s bored” Omen interrupted, which made Avarice snicker.

“I got a lot on my mind too you know” Tal grumbled out as he rubbed the back of his neck, Avarice frowned slightly at this, probably sensing the shift in emotion and wrapped his tail around Tal best he could. “My ex took my kids, I’m essentially homeless again if it wasn’t for Valerian who doesn’t know I’m here and now the god who I’ve worshiped all my life who saved me is being released”

“It’s a lot” Avarice ended the statement, sighing lightly and just scooting closer to Tal for comfort. Tal hummed in agreement and lent into Avarice, seeking the comfort of the dephx.

“Well this isn’t depressing” A gruff voice spoke as another Aphex entered Tal’s tent, to which a ball of shadows was tossed at the Aphex in question's head, though he just deflected it with his sword as it was a weak attempt.

“Fuck off Huxley” Tal narrowed his eyes but his words held no malice to them as the large Aphex made their way further in, his dark fur almost licking at the shadows Tal controlled.

“I’m just saying, what are you two moping around for, we have a war to win” The brute crossed his arms over his chest and raised a brow at the pair. “Ya telling me you’re both going to sit here having a pity party when you could be out there like, what is it you two do, glitter bombing the enemy or some shit?”

With that Tal and Avarice looked at eachother and just grinned. “Or some shit” They said in unison.

“In hindsight I should’ve seen this coming” Huxley grumbled as he watched the chaotic duo that was Tal and Avarice bedazzle a catapult using multicoloured rocks whilst also rendering the battle item completely useless, at least it looked pretty.

“Hey this was your idea” Avarice grinned from his position on top of the weapon, he was currently looking for more things to sabotage from his vantage point, true Swan had these weapons and whilst they were guarded Hux and Tal made quick work of dispatching the guards, the giant weapons were placed too far from the camp to really be protected.

“I’m regretting ever coming to find you” Hux grumbled as he looked around, his ears twitching at every sound, they were deep in enemy territory after all, they had to be careful, or at least one of them should be.

“Spoil sport” Tal poked a tongue out at Hux who just looked mildly disgusted before Tal just went back to work conjuring sparkles and glitter around the weapon.

“Yeah loosen up a little, no wonder Dom wears the pants in your relationship” Avarice snickered which caused Tal to burst out laughing and for Hux to drop his guard and storm over to the pair.

“You little shit-“

Huxleys words were soon cut off when a ball of fire slammed into the back of him, causing him to fall forwards from the unexpected blow from behind. Avarice immediately jumped down before another ball of flame skimmed right past where he had been perched.

“Who’s there” Tal snarled into the tree line as no one had emerged to claim the fire bolts whilst Avarice helped to get Huxley back on his feet. “I won’t ask again, you think that you can hide in there? Under the cover of darkness?” He stood in front of his two friends, acting as a shield of such as he raised his hands, darkness curled round his forearms like smoke, dripping down before dissipating. “Come out now whilst I’m giving you the option”

So he waited.

Tals eyes shone as he almost looked as if to grab the Smokey tendrils of darkness that had surrounded him and he pulled.

Tendrils of black erupted from every shadow that was cast in this part of the forest, thanks to the trees thick canopy there was a lot of darkness. They snapped and thrashed wildly, seeking out the intruder who had dared to try and hurt them, it didn’t take long for someone to scream before they were dragged out into the opening the trio were in. It was a speckled blue Aphex he’d honestly never seen before, but he wore the insignia of Swan.

“Let me go!” He thrashed and failed around in the shadows grasp, throwing another fireball at Tal to which his Shadows came up and easily absorbed. The Aphex squired before looking up at his captures and freezing, his eyes growing wide at the three before him. “You-your Taliesin… H-Hux and-“

“And your dead” Avarice finished the sentence with a grin before the poor Aphex’s world turned black.

“Next time maybe listen to me” Huxley grumbled as they made their way back to camp, wiping the blood of his great sword. “Wouldn’t have to clean up your mess then”

Taliesin snorted from his place besides Avarice. “Oh I’m sorry how was I to know he was semi immune to magic and you couldn’t wait for me to summon my sword”

“You summoning your sword is disturbing, you pull it out of your mouth” Huxley pulled a face before sheathing his own blade. “I don’t wanna see that freaky shit thank you”

“More for me!” Avarice perked up which set him and Tal off into a fit of laughter, Huxley just grumbled to himself and rubbed his face.

“Why do I have to deal with you two…”
