The Past
This takes place several years before MK is born. Focuses on Fang returning to Megapolis to deal with a problem, as well as eventually facing her father after 10 years of silence between each other.
Reunited
Gathering inside of Yu Lai's car, Jun leads them to one of the Monkey King shrines within the city that Fang had once spoke to him of hosting a childhood friend of her's. Where they meet Hun Ho, a shrine spirit that resides within, who without hesitation takes them in after seeing Fang with them. And in turn allows them sanctuary on the grounds. There they rest for a few days, patching both themselves and her up while waiting for Fang to awaken.
Though they're all still pretty banged up, Fang bedridden with a cast on her burnt arm. The other's were more or less managing. Though Moth's recovery was rather slow due to his demonic affinity against the shrine. That didn't seem to shy them away from the group however, as they eventually settle down to their first group meal together with the offerings from the shrine. All the while Fang attempts to make sense of her situation as they do.
Fang goes onto telling everyone that her father and her had not spoken to one another in the last 10 years after having an argument. And that the only reason she'd been able to leave the island in the first place was due to the deal they made in her keeping her identity a secret for fear of her safety. And now that it was not only blown to her friends, but also Red Son, she fears that he'll drag her back to Flower Fruit Mountain and never let her leave again.
Hun Ho points out that he did visit the shrine for a time, wondering if she'd come by, but stopped and hadn't visited since then. And eventually everyone manages to convince Fang to look forward to speaking with him, claiming that it would be best if she did rather than continue tormenting herself over the negative idea's that had left her too stressed to do so.
A week or so goes by as the rest of the group heals up, until it looks like it's ready for Fang and Jun to escort Moth back to the valley to where they could lead the moth's back to where they belong. Fang claims that they would return to the city in a week once they were done, promising to hang out with Yu Lai and stay with Hun Ho as they did. But as they're saying their goodbye's, a terrifying beam of energy erupts from the peak of Megapolis's mountain. Prompting the team to investigate the peak, despite Hun Ho's frantic warning them not to.
Though they're not back to full health, Fang claims that with a light that big it would be seen from her home, and in turn hopes that going there they would be able to meet with her father. For even he would not ignore such a large obvious threat overlooking the city.
Upon arriving there they see a large machine that is shooting light into the air, an unconscious Red Son and the King himself.
Fang immediately goes to greet her father, approaching him and offering apologies and exchanging sweet words with him. It all seems as though all her woes are being put to rest as he claims how much he missed her and how she was sorry for telling him off the way she did. Their moment going uninterrupted by the gang as they look on to the tender moment being shared.
Until Fang suddenly finds herself being hoisted into the air by her bad arm by MKing, a wicked glare playing on his features as he begins to voice his doubts onto her. All the while she helplessly flails under his scrutiny.
It isn't until a blur of gold flashes past and slams into MKing is Fang freed from his grip and falls to the ground where her friends go to aid her. As they all look onto her savior, who stands before them as MKing??
The imposter reveals themselves to be Macaque. Who in turn uses the machine to power himself up in hopes of finally being able to take down MKing with the additional power boost he now has.
MKing takes him on after telling the others to escape while they have the chance. Fang is against it despite her team being in their still weakened condition, and as Yu Lai and Jun break off in an attempt to stop the machine, Moth struggles with getting Fang to join him in getting off the mountain.
Macaque see's the others trying to shut down the machine, and sends his shadow clones after them. And Fang uses the one that comes after her and Moth as a distraction, running off to go help her friends. Only to get tackled down by a very exasperated Red Son. Who apparently had been betrayed by Macaque, unaware of his ties to the Monkey King altogether as he had disguised himself as an associate to Red Son.
Fang explains to Red that Macaque is MKing's evil twin and after a short bout of arguing shoves him out of the way when a clone was about to get the jump on him from behind. Though his fire is weakened, he manages to dispel the clone with a quick jab and looks to Fang as if she were the crazy one. Prompting her as to why she would save him like that. She simply states that there's more to their families other than them simply hating each other, and with that the two make a temporary truce to dismantle the machine. Red Son mostly wanting to do so in a form of revenge so his efforts wouldn't be wasted by Macaque.
The group eventually all manage to shut down the machine together, (Red Son funnily enough saving Jun as the machine explodes.) And MKing punts Macaque off the mountain, where the group is finally able to regroup with one another.
Fang is suspicious of this Wukong, and ask him of the name of her fondest childhood toy, to which he correctly responds with 'Minikong.' The two embrace and after a little back and forth consoling they deem it time to head home.
Though Fang takes note of Red Son's inability to arise from his current position, and offers him a ride home on her father's cloud. And despite his hesitance and clear distaste for the Monkey King he ends up taking her offer and allows Jun to aid him onto the cloud.
Eventually making it to a secluded spot near his home base, Fang and him exchange a few words. Her final farewell to him being, 'See ya cousin!~' Poking fun at the ideal of their families past as they take their leave.
And after heading back to the shrine they'd been staying at for so long, both Fang and MKing are able to exchange their more personal thoughts between one another, until both forgive one another for the argument they shared and promise never to go without contacting one another for such a long period of time ever again. Fang eventually going on to ask her father if he would be alright with her moving in for the time being and him being more than pleased to have her back, even if it is all temporary.
