Blue demons are a thing now, apparently.

So far I haven’t yet worked out their exact details, but I’ve been mad interested in making a different type of demon with a blue skin and more monstrous features. Probably gonna call ‘em Mirrors for reasons I am about to explain.

What I do know is that these guys are a more spiritual type of demon. They are the spiritual mirror image of already existing demons and attempt to take on an appearance close to their Original. While they live separate from them and can’t interact with them, they can look into what their Original is doing, at the cost of feeling every emotion and sensation they feel while they’re doing so. It’s a reason many Mirrors lose contact with their Original after they die; they don’t want to share their pain.

All of ‘em have black sclera and a washed out pale iris the colour of their Original without a pupil, four arms, those markings you see on the feet, and several other markings that usually look artificial like the ones these two have. If the Original loses a limb or gets scars, that part of the body of the Mirror turns a darker colour, though it can be hard to distinguish markings from scars.

As for naming, they take on a variation of the name of their Original, usually two syllables long, ending on the letter a or e. They generally don’t wear clothes and while they do try to mirror their Original, they often have much longer hair and they sometimes wear it differently to line up with personal taste. After all, Mirrors are not exact carbon copies of their Original but rather creatures with a mind and personality of their own that strive to be like their Original. Only their genetic features are similar.

The concept was born yesterday so I haven’t had a lot of time to think this through, but now that they’re there they’re there to stay.
