The reveal of Solas’ true identity hit me so hard back in 2014 that it knocked me on my ass. I still think it was incredibly implemented and adds a lot to the idea of the Evanuris even if I’m not 100% on board with everything that it brought to the table.
3. Least favorite canon thing about this character?
Grandpa is racist towards non-elves which is understandable with the above context but still kinda gross overall. Also I’m on the side that his concept art was leagues better than his actual canon design.

I don’t think about him enough to have any tbh. I probably did back in my Solavellan days but not in the year of our lord 2024.

12. What’s a headcanon you have for this character?
Pretty much every ounce of characterization I have for him IS pure headcanon - but my personal favorite is that he’s a simple farm boy, youngest son, who joined the city guard. He was starting his first day when the Oblivion gates opened.
20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn’t matter?
HoK. I like to think that if you convinced him to stay you two forge a mutual bond made up of ptsd and survivor’s guilt. Once he’s followed you (literally) to hell and back, there’s no turning back.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
I was always a little intrigued by Ilend ever since my first playthrough because he has such “Potential Companion in an RPG” energy to him. Oblivion was my first TES game so I didn’t realize that companions weren’t a big part of the series until post-Kvatch when Ilend became just another static NPC (or depending on my playthrough he just straight Dies)
