Here's an alien that's been floating around in my brain for a bit. Not done with em, but my art shapeshifts through out the whole process so its nice to have snapshots of different moments in it to look back on. I love finding all the different expressions you can create in eyes. I have dreams about creature's fairly often, so I've got a huge backlog of them to draw, but I hope to make some references for this one.

Just sorta thinking about how the human experience is really fluid and that you won’t always feel the same way. We change constantly; what we believe, how we feel, how we think, speak, act. So, i think its really important to write down how you feel, and what you are currently experiencing, the current factors in your life- so that when you do change again, you can reflect on that little moment of your life it in the future. Positive, or negative. Especially record the positive things in your life, because we easily get lost focusing on negatives that we can loose sight of even the tiny blessings.

You can use negative moments to appreciate your life currently. But you can use positive moments to remind yourself of the good things that you can experience, even when you don’t believe you can.

Write down how things make you feel. You may really need to read those words again some day.

They’ve been named. Long Boi and Chongus. They share a pot, and are happy balloon flowers. (i like to call them fairy flowers though because they’re both butterfly like and have attitudes. Long boi attacks my hair everytime i reach over for the other plants and leaves old *leaves* in my hair without me knowing.)

I don’t have this butterfly plant anymore, but it was really pretty while it lasted.

hairs are where a sprout was removed!

These little hairs at the base are where the baby aloe vera were attached.

I love how much of a fan this looks like.

I am constantly impressed by the root systems of these plants and how small they can be in comparison to the plant, and how small they can be in a LARGE pot!

Oh, quick tip: I used a bamboo stick with a sharp point to stab between the roots and loosen dirt to this degree. It was tedious, but i wanted to see what the root looked like without hurting it with my fingers, as well as expose where the baby roots attached to.

I thought this root system would be handy to reference for something…

Used a drill or a nail and a hammer and bam. Drain.

Add some rocks some spray paint and I’ll like these better than clay pots because they don’t break you can string them together AND the most important part:

*i can fit more plants on the shelves and bay window heheheh*

tin or aluminum cans work great for some plants like succulents and pothos. They are compact and you can fit alot together but still grow perfectly healthy plants. Love me some tin cans. For some reason, when I planted my pothos in a large tin, its growth rate greatly increased. I mean it was basically stuck in size for years. I’m not certain if they like the metals? I’ll have to grab a picture of my succulents and the pothos later. They look pretty happy right now.
