im trying to make a good enough dr bright rewrite and im kinda struggling because my autistic ass hates change (being someone who has been obsessed with the dr bright character for over 4 years now) and also because i think the rewrite i already made is way too similar to dr bright apart from the last name (shaw because im not creative) and amulet
to be clear, im not forcing myself to do this, i genuinely want to make a rewrite because of how ‘ab’ took advantage of their character to do some gross stuff with the fans of the character
update; i am finally doing it (i kept the physical appearance of him and the amulet the same and i kept his name the same because im prob gonna change it later anyways) and i updated the stuff that scp-963 does !!! wooo i love being incredibly specific with descriptions !!!!!!!!

The character Bright is in fact integral to SCP, there are plenty of tales NOT written by AB (Adm*nBr*ght) where they give the character an actual character. Tales such as Executions of Doctor Bright, Major Tom, etc. The fandom community itself especially the art and fan writers side has also given the character a grand golden age.
He belongs to us. He will forever, at least be, an important figure to the community.
Be kind and courteous to fictive introjects of Bright, they are NOT the author and the ones I engaged with denounced AB. If y’all have any idea how DID/OSDD works you’ll realise that people cannot chose their alters nor can the alters chose their source. Fictives are real and deserve respect. Telling them to fuck off because their source is Bright is both disgusting and ableist.
Be kind to those who happen to kin or have a delus*onal identity (IRL) with the character. They’re allowed to be upset by the recent going ons, they’re allowed to hate the idea of Bright being outright removed and replaced with someone else. And allowed to be distressed over it regardless of their age. Telling someone to get over their delusions and to get over it is also disgusting, disrespectful and ableist. No one has the right to reality check anyone (UNLESS you have explicit permission from that person to ground them).
If negative talk on the character is present in a blacklist. Respect it. If artists and fan writers, as well as role players, want to continue using Bright as their muse they have every right to. Since a grand majority if not all has denounced AB and practically claimed the character as theirs. And trust me, we all hate and despise AB. We support the victims but we also support the act to keep the character alive, use him, be him and have fictive alters of him.
