🎯 -What do they do best?
As a mechanic, he’s really good at fixing things! Well. Things that he really knows are cars. He IS good at that!
He can manage with some electronics and other handy crafts, but the whole plot being He doesn’t actually know Computer and Android repair and now he has to learn that because he owns a broken robot now. You know how it is.

🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Andre loves working with his hands, staying busy with tinkering and all that. He’s good at it, so he likes doing it, and he likes doing it, so he gets good at it!
He loves singing and dancing, he doesn’t take it seriously and is just having fun with it, but he’s got a decent singing voice for sure! Very much a whistle while you work kinda guy, always has a lil tune stuck in his head. He also loves swimming, and watching/reading sci-fi stories for fun hobbies!

Andre hates having to dress up fancy and attend stuffy formal parties, it’s so uncomfortable!!!! He has to on occasion as a family obligation, his sister and brother-in-law host fancy fundraisers and things on occasion and would REally Appreciate if he Showed UP SOMETIMES. Boo…

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
Hm, this was 10 years ago and I don’t remember specifics for What had inspired Andre in particular. I needed a human counterpart to Delilah, a glitchy droid in a brand new story at the time. I designed them pretty much at the same time but I was more focused on the robot and just general sci-fi aesthetics! (He really was Just Some Guy who accidentally got into this situation. A Broken Man for a Broken Android.)

There wasn’t a lot to him yet, just knew he was just some poor unemployed mechanic, very down on his luck kinda guy who winds up with a broken android to fix for a family member. He couldn’t repair her (and in fact makes some problems Worse) and ends up keeping her when the original owners didn’t want a glitchy old broken model. They’ll just buy a shiny new replacement!!! :)) Awesooome…

He didn’t exactly WANT the droid at the start, but had too much sympathy seeing something intelligent (and really cool, it’s A ROBOT, hello???) with a personality just cast out like it was trash, just because it’s brain didn’t work in the way it was “Supposed to"™. (*points* 🫵 this man is autistic and his family is always letting him down when he needs it most 🧍‍♂️)

All this was pretty much set from the beginning, and I remember things that inspired Delilah, the concept of the glitchy robot, but I don’t remember like. Why I came up with "her human”. He just always was here, Like That, and the core info never really changed. 😌

Some inspiration that was really vague and still really has no place, but the first “I Need a sci-fi robot story!!!!” feeling is literally just images of walls of glowy computer/TV screens. That's… not a character. HOW did I make Characters from That!

🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?

I just DEsperately needed a queer horror character and went down the demon possessed path, with some religious trauma themes etc. Just a fun easy way to bring “Normal” “Guy” into a monstrous form somehow!

We had an AU years ago where Nathan, Lucky, and Levi were on the run and because of shenanigans find a spell book and accidentally summon a demon critter, Goopy, that possesses Lucky. Classic! And that’s basically where the demon inspiration came from, why it was so easy to get started on that story path because we’ve done it before. I like when that happens! Though we eventually changed Quinn’s demon to be less The Goopy Creature type. But you can kinda see the connection here in a Runaway sketchpage vs Quinn’s first sketchpage.

We were also inspired by just. Classic horror tropes or motifs , things that would always happen to Quinn and Parker like cell phones neverrrr working when you’re in danger, tripping while being chased, haunted dolls.. Skeptically playing with a haunted spell book because it’s not realllllly gonna do anything! *gets possessed*. Whorror Movie is just kind of a loving joke and homage to the horror genre!

💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?

Quinn is scared of other people controlling him! (Which means Quinn and The Demon are gonna have to talk boundaries…! 😔 It WAS scary at first but they feel empowered now that they work together! Evil now. 😏) Scared of cults and conversion therapy and other such concepts.

And Quinn’s demon has a fear of water! (which sucks for it, because Quinn loves taking baths to ease their sore body) (A running gag in the time Quinn was possessed before REalizing this, Parker would leave them in the bath to go get food or assess the damage of the van ((they ran over the demon. With the van, yeah.)) she’d come back to see Quinn zoned out just standing in the bath tub, not relaxing at all!!)

Andre never had a favorite flower before, they all look nice its fine whatever. BUT Kriss’s favorite flowers are sunflowers so now Andre’s favorite flowers are sunflowers. (🥴)

Gabriel likes rosemary and other herby plants! Loves a good smell, but not necessarily super floral.

Donnie likes Orchids, they seem dramatic, which she can relate to. 😏

Anna likes Roses (thats her tattoos) and Weeping Willow trees!

Nathan likes Ferns!

Soren likes Lavender. (he used to get nightmares a lot as a kid and his grandma would use a sleepy lavender scented spray on his pillows)

Trav likes fruit trees, lil Georgia peach boy.

Brent likes Pansies.

Bingo like Cacti.
