Update note (29/4/2024): Added another scam victim and testimonial

Summary: Scamming, indefinitely delaying/rushing commissions, ripping off designs, bases and traits from closed species. Guilt trips people and victimizes herself ad infinitum, accuses anyone who calls her out as harassment.

Hello, the one who writes is Claire, on facebook/TH known as Claire Griffin/Grifuja. This doc is a compilation of some recent (and past) receipts for (yet another) beware on Pupu Purim (formerly known as Nyako). She is a known scammer, multiple bewares have been brought up in the past. This doc aims to compile any receipts/screenshots proving her scammy antics, and it may get updated as more victims come forward. If anyone has any submissions, please mail them to seekerofstarlight@gmail.com, and if you wish, you can identify yourself or be left anonymous.

My personal experience in summary is: She’s owed me 3 pieces of art for about a year and a half - a headshot, a halfbody and a custom. She would indefinitely delay my commissions and would refuse me to give me any refunds. I asked about two or three times. She delivered the halfbody after a LOT of pressure, but the quality was ABSOLUTELY subpar compared to what she usually posts on Facebook. In a later section, I will compile the piece I received and compare it to what she usually posts. And about the custom, she’s delayed it indefinitely and insisted in scrapping the previous WIPs (which I liked quite a lot) and reworking the custom using her own base - because it would seemingly be easier. She delivered a flat color WIP which was essentially just a basefill from the old design I requested a redesign on - and it was, again, of subpar quality considering I waited an entire year for it. I got fed up and just told her to forget it. But I’m not willing to let her go scot-free, and thus I write this doc.

That all being said, please do not harass Purim or anyone involved in this beware. This is simply to report the repeated occurrences and potentially avoid that more people fall victim to her antics.

For now, I compile the recent materials that have surfaced.

Some considerations:

  • While I’m not saying she’s not entitled to have superfluous things, this behavior is completely incompatible with someone who claims to be in such financial struggle. Either that, or she’s not setting her priorities right.
  • PayPal policy on Brazil: PayPal in Brazil no longer allows users to hold money in their account, and it’s not immediately available to use. All the money users receive is only held in the account for a day before being automatically transferred to the user’s linked bank account. This process takes from 1 to 3 work days, which means that if the user gets any payments on saturday, it’ll only be available, at best, by the following monday. This is incompatible with the claims of “I need to get $### in X hours to pay a bill”.
  • The minimum wage in Brazil is R$1320,00 (which roughly converts to US$257,00). While many things will not appear to be particularly expensive to US standards, please notice that when compared to the minimum wage, it’s a very significant portion of a Brazilian’s wage.
  • Despite the low minimum wage, Brazil has one of the best (if not the best) public health programs in the world, SUS (Sistema Único de Saúde), which provides, free of any charge, medication and treatment for conditions like Asthma, Diabetes and Arterial Hypertension. This is incompatible with her claim that Brazil does not provide Asthma treatment by our public health system.
  • About the makeup: please review the first bullet point. It doesn’t matter much whether the makeup is cheap or expensive, but it’s about priorities.

SECTION ZERO: Past Bewares

SECTION I: Ripped off designs/base

Original

Purim’s ripoff

Note: the belly gems are a trait from a closed species called Orkis. She has ripped off this trait in two designs, this one and the one shown previously. The original design shown on the left belongs officially to the closed species.

Owner of the ripped off design requested their OC not to be displayed on the beware. But the design on the left is a ripoff.

Commentary: Milly commissioned her to make the refsheet of her sona, Komori. A few days after, Purim blatantly ripped off the design to make a character of her own. She even ripped-off her pet.

This character belongs to MayMaxine. She commented on the adopt post stating how uncomfortable she was with how similar the moth adopt looked with her sona, and no response came from it. Screenshot follows.

SECTION II: Chat receipts

Will be grouped into sub-sections for different cases, if there are any more submissions

Other images to further detail the situation:

Olde ref sheet of the character I wanted a rework on.

First WIP of the redesigned custom. I needed to mention that I was very satisfied with these lines before she asked to scrap everything and redo it on her base instead.

First flat color WIP of the “REDESIGN”

Second flat color WIP. I got fed up and told her to forget it.

A halfbody commission piece I got from her and the sketch by comparison. Notice the absolute mess of the shading and LQ background. I never posted it to TH because of how unsatisfied I was with this piece, even though I quite liked the initial sketch.

The following set of screenshots is a friend of Jojo’s who had a similar experience.

This person had commissioned Pupu to draw them a male opossum. Asked for corrections on the anatomy, but Pupu refused to do so.

This was the piece, unfortunately AI genned, used to help describe the character.

This was the final piece Pupu delivered.

SECTION III: TikTok screenshots/video reuploads

These screenshots and reuploads directly contradict her claims of “financial struggle” or “my family is going hungry”. Even though, yes, it’s entirely possible to spend in luxuries and neglect your basic needs. But is it rational? Is it responsible? She also claims to have a boyfriend who provides with lots and lots of gifts – but honestly, that’s also incompatible. What kind of partner would see their significant other struggling and give her superfluous gifts instead of helping with basic necessities?

Commentary: Rats are expensive to keep. Good rat cages easily go for hundreds. It isn’t that she’s not allowed to keep pets, but again, it’s incompatible with claims of poverty/hunger.

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Ha8oCiiIFwQ-BL2PP_k4x_mavk7mtVa/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary: Vaping, which is another luxury, incompatible with her financial situation claims. Disposable vape pods easily go for R$50~100 (in USD $10~20) per unit.

Commentary: You can see filming equipment (ring light), while not very expensive, it is another superfluous object.

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1av2HczKF5RnJ4_6-Flks5oNmJ6hcqEqP/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary: Wearing heavy makeup again, notice her clothing as well. In the background, you can notice its seems to be in her front yard, and you can see a car and also you can notice it’s a two-story house (stairs).

Dated: Sept. 24th, 2023

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YX5SkS3SbbMCZEz8_v0LhbJqGxSo7Bif/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary: It’s a vlog about diet, and routines and getting skinnier, letting her hair grow (essentially, a “glow up”).

Dated: Sept. 5th, 2023

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QGyi14DXEm3n_ieHngc6v9P6h1zCoEBL/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary: Text says “POV: getting skinnier”.

Dated: Sept. 26th, 2023

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AhaqNvI8AvAm-362WyTkzroHF_xRJYLj/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary:Showing her iPad. It was a somewhat recent acquisition, and incompatible with claims of “financial struggling”. I’m not saying she’s not entitled to have an iPad, I’m just stating it’s unreasonable with her claims.

Dated: Sept. 27th, 2023

Reupload: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZtXHrbimoqghonwj21I6BciXZW6y2_ry/view?usp=drive_link

Commentary: Another glow up vlog, showing her skin care routine, eating beef every day (which’s been really expensive in Brazil. Speaking for myself, I’m nowhere near the financial struggle she appears to show, but I can’t afford to eat red meat daily) and eating strawberries for breakfast (again, expensive).

Commentary: Ah, yes, the infamous gamer chair. Back in 2021 she made a post imploring that people commissioned her, and that she needed money, and such. She amassed the money and appeared some days in the future having bought a pink gamer chair.

Commentary: Notice that the last screenshot has a check-in location, Smart Fit, which is a somewhat expensive franchise for a gym, there are multiple locations all over Brazil. The cheaper subscriptions go for R$ 100~130/month (which is equivalent to 20~27 USD monthly). Again, I’m not saying she’s not entitled to exercise at a gym. But count gym clothing and footwear, this is, again, incompatible with claims of hunger/poverty/financial struggles.

SECTION IV: Miscellaneous screenshots

Commentary: This series of screenshots proves that she’s the same person on the TikTok videos

Commentary: This series of screenshots, taken directly from Facebook, are a compilation of superfluous stuff she posted. Some she claims to have gotten as gifts from her boyfriend. I’m not saying the gifts are a lie, but again, what kind of partner would see her significant other struggle so much with basic needs and choose to give her a Monster High Doll (which is VERY expensive in Brazil - about R$140 or ~27USD, which is equivalent to a little more than 10% Brazil’s minimum wage) or a vape pod.

Commentary: Pupu asked for crowdfunding to get an iPad – which is ABSURDLY EXPENSIVE in Brazil compared to Samsung tablets. In the comments, she insisted that she couldn’t get used to Samsung’s OS.

Commentary: List of credit cards and the amount of the bills she detailed herself. She claims to be the only one able to earn money to pay the bills of ALL the members of her household, including her mother. Energy and water bills for an average income household with about 4 people costs about R$ 500~600 monthly (converting to USD, that’s about 100~120 USD). Now compare that cost to the superfluous things she gets, such as dolls, makeup and such.

Commentary: Asking for $670 (USD) on Discord, allegedly to pay a bill. A few minutes later she posted, overjoyed, that someone donated her $670 through Ko-fi. That same week, she posted that she got an iPad, which coincidentally costs around $670 in Brazil. Apparently, she has deleted this post from her discord server. Are iPads even edible?

Commentary: A series of screenshots around August 24~28th where she constantly says she needs $600. Does this count as begging already?

Commentary: Series of vents where she complains about the behavior of her mother (like reckless spendings) and other stuff.

Commentary: Guilt tripping discord members begging that she needs $100 in an hour or so. Remember that, as I said in the considerations in the first page, PayPal doesn’t make any money available to Brazilian Users immediately.

Commentary: A FB comment by her claiming, among other things, that Brazil’s public healthcare system doesn’t provide Asthma treatment. It can be easily disproved in here: https://www.gov.br/saude/pt-br/assuntos/saude-de-a-a-z/a/asma/tratamento#:~:text=O%20Sistema%20Único%20de%20Saúde,CPF%20e%20da%20receita%20médica.

Commentary: This collection of screenshots are from her Trello. Notice the amount of pending commissions. Is this even humanly possible?

Commentary: These screenshots are from her new instagram account. Allegedly she’s planning to change her name… yet again? Although I don’t have enough proof of that besides this.

She keeps guilt tripping her discord members while getting her nails done and consuming luxury items.

Anonymous report on her splurging habits.

SECTION V: Reports from other victims, without chat receipts

A testimonial from her ex-best friend (chose not to identify herself) detailing the experience and abuse she suffered in their “friendship”.
