Help needed:

I don’t really know how to write serious posts without feeling like I’m coming off hokey but this is important so I’m just gonna have to deal with that discomfort.

My dad was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive bladder cancer. As of right now we don’t have a total quote for his medical treatment, but we’ve already been struggling to afford the gas to get him to his appointments - let alone that it looks like some of his chemo medications won’t be covered by Medicare.

We are hoping to get some help with the costs associated with this diagnosis, so my mom’s organized a gofundme. Please help me get some eyes on this, and if you can spare any money I would be eternally grateful.

All of the money we raised had already been allotted to bills we’ve received from his hospital stay and the first round of chemo. Medicare pays *most* of it, but when theyre billing insurance 40k per session we still end up with a pretty high portion ourselves. If you wanted to help but couldn’t the first time around, we are going to continue needing help at least through April. And that’s not including the removal of his bladder.

My parents Medicaid renewal got denied at the top of this year, the only idea we have as to why, since our medical spending has *increased*, not decreased, is that maybe the cost of living increase for social security just barely eeked them maybe a couple dollars over the income limit. So while we’re appealing, my hopes aren’t very high that they’ll requalify.

I hate having to keep putting this on my dash but I really need to get eyes on this. Any amount helps and if you can’t donate sharing also helps a lot.

A lot of leftists are half a step away from outright saying “People who can’t work are bourgeois.”

If you can conceive of “working class” and “owning class”, might I note that anyone who is not “owning class” and is unable to find/perform work is dependent on whoever/whatever they can find to support them because of the fact that we live within capitalism, making them infinitely more vulnerable to abuse, including from those who are “working class.”

This includes and is not limited to:

Disabled people

Children

The elderly

Single parents who don’t have the income for childcare and need to stay home

At some point in your life, you were taught that being slightly annoying is an unforgivable sin. Maybe it was by your parents or a teacher or a friend or a bully or an older sibling. But someone taught you that being slightly annoying is a crime punishable by death.

You must unlearn this.

You must accept that all people will be annoying at some point or another in their lives, maybe all of their lives, and that this is okay. It is okay for strangers on the bus, it is okay for children in the grocery store, it is okay for people on social media, and it is okay for you.

If you ever want to truly love your fellow humans, if you ever want to truly love yourself, you must have forgiveness for being annoying.

“i didn’t like it” and “I think it wasn’t well written” are different. i can personally dislike things that are not bad and i am being so brave about it

i can also enjoy things that are not good, which is very brave and sexy of me

they used to make smackable technology. you used to be able to hit your tv when it didn’t work good.

when I was a kid I had an old tv in my room that would always turn to unwatchable static in the middle of shows but one night my sister and I were watching Naruto & every time Kakashi was on-screen the static cleared so we were like “hahaha the tv looooves Kakashi.”

I had a Kakashi bookmark so we held it up against the screen as a joke but the static actually cleared up. Mystified, we tried different bookmarks and objects with the same plastic material but nothing else worked, only the Kakashi bookmark.

We ended up taping it to the corner of the screen and it stayed there for 11 years until we moved out. When I was older people would be like “can you move the bookmark off the screen” bc it did sort of block a bit of the view but I would demonstrate the static issue and everyone was always just like “huh. what the hell?? well…alright.”

No explanation, but thanks Kakashi.

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma’s cats staying with me.

- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.

- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.

- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I’m sleeping and injured.

That’s love. 🐈‍⬛🐈❤️

cats are so very unclear on what is wrong with us but they want to help

Last time I had a really bad migraine my cat curled herself round my head and purred sympathetically, and actually stayed there through two of her normal mealtimes. It wasn’t until I was able to stagger to the kitchen and grab a protein bar for myself that she gave a very small, polite miaow to the effect of “while you’re up… could you get something for me too?”
